My biggest thrill here on Warrior Forum

I always get a thrill out of seeing my thanks number go higher. I just hit 400 times people have thanked me for something I have posted. Not as many as some here, but for me it is just a big thrill to know that I was somehow able to assist so many people with their quest for information or what ever.

Not all thanks were for answers to questions of course. But that doesn't matter. Just the fact that I was able to help so many people in some way makes me feel very good.

I have been here just over two years. So that means that I have been able to help someone, more than once every three days.

This is probably a little goofy to some. But I just wanted to say how important it is to thank people when they help you. And I know I for one get a thrill out of knowing I was able to help someone, and I am sure others do too. And all I am doing is passing on information I learned here, for the most part.

    Personally, I think there should be more buttons. I'd like to see a "No Thanks" button. An "FU" button would be nice too. Or what about an "Are You Serious?" button? I would use those buttons a lot.

      I got to say, great minds think alike. So often I have wanted a 'are you out of your mind' button.

      Thanks EBR, you gave me a chuckle.

      LOL Agreed.

      I generally get Thanks for three reasons:
      1. Thanks for sharing great information;
      2. Thanks for making me laugh;
      3. Thanks for smacking some sense into that fool.

        #7. EASY BUTTON!

        I'm sure this is the one they really want to see added.

    It's a great feeling and a nice surprise when you see thanks - and have no idea what it was for but know you've helped someone.

    But do I agree with the 'no thanks' buttons

    Tim, I agree with you. People do like to be thanked. It's a good feeling knowing you've helped somebody in some way, or knowing that they appreciate you for some reason. So I gave you a thanks for this thread.

    But Tim, I noticed you've been a member for 3+ years and made close to 3,000 posts ... but you've only thanked others 204 times. I don't mean to rain on your parade here, but while you're grateful for those who have thanked you, it doesn't seem you've been very generous with your thanks.

    Thanking someone makes them feel good about themselves to one degree or another, you've already said that in a different way. When you make a person feel good about themselves it's natural that they feel good about you. When people feel good about you, many will be more generous with their thanks toward you. Giving, is the best way to receive, my good man.

      I check on that ratio too. Lots of time I thank Warriors only because I do not have anything to add to a discussion but I still want to show my approval for what was being said. So the number of thanks I have left far outnumbers the times I have been thanked.

      Though I am very happy I am no longer stuck at the 666 thanked marked. That bugged me something fierce. I seem to hover at the number for a couple of weeks too.

        I do that too. If someone says just what I wanted to say, thanks. I also thank folks for making me think, whether I agree with them or not. I thank people for making me smile. I thank people because it's obvious they are trying to help others. There are a lot of good reasons to give someone a thank you, and since - like giving someone a smile in person, it doesn't cost anything - choosing to be a little generous seems like a good choice.

        Okay...I'll take that as my cue to go get ready for our big BBQ today.
        Like that made me smile because I thought "what the *!" when I read it, which I'm guessing from your comment is about what you thought.

    I will thank you for reminding us to thank! LOL But it is absolutely true. I don't think anyone has really thanked me yet because I haven't posted enough. But it is something to strive for, true.
