$233.46 Sold & $32.36 In FEES! eBay / PayPal

What ever happened to the good old eBay days when fees were low and they didn't tack on every possible penny? I remember when I actually used to be able to keep most of my money.

I just sold some items for a family member and the total amount of sales was $233.46 but eBay & PayPal fees were $32.36. Talk about being bent over and taking it from eBay!

I just think their fees are way too high and ridiculous. Does anyone else agree?

    What is the alternative?

Actually, that seems quite reasonable, a little under 15% in total. A lot cheaper than if you were to go to an auction house.

I'm with Brian on this one...
I think 10% is more than agreeable... (it used to be less)...
How do volume sellers get by these days?
(especially those chaps that sell things for a penny?)

    No alternative.

I guess so but I'm just saying I miss the old days with eBay.

      Dear Brian,

      Couldn't agree more.

I started selling on eBay since 1998, and I loved every second of it.

In 1998 eBay was a wonderful, amazing place, I worked full time, and I made more money than any job would have allowed.

Today, fees seems to raise more & more and many people are looking for alternatives.

Like you, I miss the old days!

      Best,
      Devid

Exactly. On my website I sell usually 6-month-1-year long advertising deals and it always takes a huge chunk out of my total. Imagine how much the fees are when it's in excess of 1,000
