Does email marketing campaigns still work??

I remember building my business a long time ago using nothing but email marketing to do it. At the time it was working. But know 7 years later I am skepticle. Is anyone getting any results with large bulk email lists? or any list for that matter?

    Email marketing still works IF your list is targeted, meaning that you are reaching
    the people who:

    1. Are REALLY interested in what you're selling.

    2. Have money to spend and are willing to spend it on the solution to their
    problem that you're providing.

    3. You build a large enough list. Large is relative based on the niche itself.
    The only way you're going to find out if yours is large enough is by tracking
    your stats such as open rate on emails and conversion rate on clicks.

    I make a good portion of my income from email marketing. So I can personally
    say that it works for me.

    Your mileage might vary.

      Thanks for the reply as I do agree that it still works with the right lists. However, my concern is more towards the email systems theses days and how the autoresponders might be being kicked off into the junk email folders. I know this has always been the case as email marketing response rate is under 1%.

    agendapal, what would you recommend as an alternative to email marketing? I am an SEO writer so email marketing is just another feature I use, yet I do not rely on it but I am curious to your techniques

    If you promote your site and have a newsletter form there, people will subscribe to it and this will increase your income.

    Now, if you focus on doing this every single day and bring in a consistent number of leads you will do just fine.

    I used to think the same thing as you and when I re-added my newsletter to my site, sales have gone up. As soon as you stopped with email marketing and following up with subscribers, sales went down.

    So I can tell you from my own experience that it works.

    Care about your list, give them free and valuable information.

    Once your list grows, you can start to sell even more frequently.

    But seriously, it still works like a charm. All the big WSO launches are promoted through affiliates. I'm in 3 skype channels that gets spammed everyday with new and amazing offers. Notice the increasing One Time Offers (OTO) since you would leave money on the table for affiliates if you didn't include one!

    Brilliant marketing attracts brilliant affiliates.
