How much water do you drink every day?

Myself, I drink 1 to 2 gallons per day.

  • The 8x8 formula is not carved in stone. There are a number of factors that can be used to determine your fluid needs. For example, your size, how much you perspire and the water content of food you eat.

    A good rule of thumb is to check your urine. It should be light yellow at the most. Dark urine is often an indicator of dehydration.

    I drink a lot of water. I never measure. I have a 24 ounce glass and I fill it multiple times a day.

  • Hi I am sadly very addicted to diet softdrinks so more of them then water.
  • Not enough - two bottles a day approximately 20 oz.
  • When I got in work, I always bring my 500ml tumbler. If I'm not mistaken, I am refilling my tumbler more than 10 times in one night.

    Just made it from 1 litre in the past week.

    The recommendation to prevent kidney stones is 3 litres (99 oz)
    So the old adage at 8x8 ounces a day (64oz) was conservative.

    I don't know how I will ever make it to 99 oz but i said that about 64 not too long ago.

    Right now I drink lemon juice and water (hot and cold)

    Green Tea (decaf)
    Vanilla Sleepy Time (Chamomile)
    Mint Tea

    ANY WAY to swallow that much water.

    I am very heartened that a Urologist told me COFFEE IS WATER. (most kidney information says to strictly avoid caffeine.)

    No problem I can put down a few cups of that a day. ( but it was part of the problem when for years I was drinking 2-3 x 8oz of home ground turbo grind. as 3/4 of my water supply.

    Kidneys and Water are no joke.

    Don't start peeing blood before you notice (or keeling over and crawling the walls writhing in pain from stones). - that you will notice... LOL.

    (stop drinking soda A lethal habbit - especially diet soda - if the sugar doesn't kill you the pseudo-sweeteners will.)

  • actually i think that you are supposed to drink 1 oz per 2 lbs body weight per day.

    I do not drink nearly enough, but have found that drinking tea helps me get some of that much needed water/h2o!
  • It's hard for me to drink as much water as I am supposed to. I thinks its something a lot of people can improve on.

  • I aim for atleast 6 pints a day. Have to keep rushing to the toilet, but it's difficult to ever be "too hydrated". I find the more water I drink the better I feel and the longer I can focus on something without becoming distracted.

    Overall it means I can make more money in a day - whilst saving money - by not consistently spending it on commercial drinks.
  • About 2 - 4 litres for me. Knew a chick who didn't drink any water at all, and she'd constantly complain that she was lethargic. Gee, I wonder why!
  • A minimum of 10 glasses a day. You may pee a lot, the good part is that you know your body is clearing away those harmful toxins. The more water the better I say.

    • I think if you drank like 2 gallons in 30 minutes that would be too much. I think it depends on the time frame. Myself I drink at least a gallon a day.

      Tough subject. I hate water but love coffee When I was in martial arts (4 years and stopped at age 50) I was always told to drink water. I have to force myself and sometimes manage 2-3 days in a row and then that's it for months on end.

      If you listen to Tony Robbins, you should only drink to quench thirst and instead get your water from fruits and veggies heavy in water.

      I don't know. I'm 55 now and I can't see where lack of drinking water is affecting me. Heck, the guy next door is 75, active and all he drinks is coke.

      Time to go around and check some other posts, still trying to find my way around.

    I think we must drink enough water to meet our water loss through different physical activities and to prevent from dehydration. I drink 3 liters of water daily. It improve my metabolic system and keep my skin fresh.

  • The 8 glasses a day thing is disputed by many health experts. I'm no expert but from what I have read and researched if your urine is darker than a pale yellow you should be drinking more fluids. If you are thirsty drink, if you are hungry eat. If you are overweight move more. If you are underweight lift more.

  • Hi! The water is a God blessing thing for all the Humans and all the living animals.
    I drink 8-10 Glass of water in a day.Doctors advised to drink 15 glasses in 24 Hours.
    So we should need to care about our health and drink a water in a proper way.

      Naturally that means I also drink between 4 to 6 ounces of ACV a day

  • Is it true bottled water isn't healthy? Heard this the other day but could not believe it.
  • It's depend on me. Generally I drink 8 to 9 glasses of water everyday. Water makes me hydrated throughout a day. It may maintain my body temperature.
