What do you think of this analysis I found on Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao. Is the reasoning sound or do you see flaws with it?

Reason #6: Since coming out of retirement, Floyd is better than ever
    That's a pantload right there...

Floyd is one of the better defensive/counterpunchers around... maybe ever..
Floyd has been hit with shots he never would have a few years ago. Mosley rocked him.
Even this last kid, Ortiz tagged him..

I never considered Ortiz even in Mayweather's class.

He wanted a belt to go into a fight with Pacqiuao with.

    This fight will happen...
Floyd knows this is a legitimate challenge, he's at the twilight of his career and this is a huge payday.

The campaign for this fight has been brilliant, I have seen it many times, but not to this extent. Didn't cost them but a couple of million...would be my bet.
Word of mouth with a few well placed shills here and there.

It will be a close fight, Manny IS up in weight, but has performed well.
He has the awkward style enough to give Floyd problems, especially being a south paw.

I would pick Manny by late tko or decision.

The problem with stats at that level is they stay in the dressing room.

Everybody has a number, and somebodies got it.

Manny "million punches a minute" Pacqiuao vs. Floyd "hits you twice for your once" Mayweather Jr. - I'll take Floyd. I saw him fight a few times and he's just ridiculous. He's the only guy in sports that I've actually liked as the "bad guy." But I know it's all just an act because you have to have one in every sport or show or movie because we humans have to have someone to hate to kick up ratings and root against.

I would bet for Pacquiao. Simply because he's my countryman . But it's not only my basis why I picked pacquiao. Yeah, Mayweather is good, but I'm sure that pacquiao will give him the biggest problem inside the ring that he'd never faced from his previous opponents.

Many boxing analyst not only in the Philippines but also from other countries saying that maybe Pacquiao is Mayweather's worst nightmare. 13-15 punches in 3.5 seconds?! Would you think Mayweather can dodge that?! Hell No!

This may be an reenactment of the Ali-Frazier match ups.

You have a master boxer in Floyd and the Pacman is a non stop move forward type of guy.

It's gana take Joe Frazier type of pressure to get the better of Floyd and perhaps that southpaw stance of Pacs will also help to confuse Floyd for a moment or two.

I wonder who has the longer reach?

I just checked and Floyd has a full 5 inches on the Pacman.

The Pacman could be in for a long evening simply trying to get to Floyd.

In every fight I've seen, Floyd has made mincemeat of his opponent but all it takes is one good punch to shake things up.

I really hope it's a classic and they fight at least twice but I can not see Manny beating Floyd.

        Its almost a pointless debate.

In Floyds camp he is the boss and get 100% of his money and terms.

Manny has maybe two bosses and gives up 30% or more to others.

Floyd has not dodged anyone since boxing, yet , Mannys "bosses" has ridiculous terms and excuses for not fighting Floyd.

Floyd is smart, like he said, no matter how much film and planning you watch, once you are in that ring, it is never like you thought it would be, and you have to adapt.

What type of ridiculous terms etc. has Manny tried to dictate?

There was something about a blood test before or after the fight but I forgot the details.

...and Mayweather's camp wants that, not Manny's.

Because Manny did a Barry Bonds/Mark McGuire routine and bulked up/added weight very fast to move up.

It took Manny something like 13 years to go up 40 pounds, one weight class at a time, except for fly to super bantam, which by the way in the old days, before so many weight divisions, boxers did all the time.
He started (turned pro) at age 17.

The most weight he ever gained at one time was 12 pounds to fight and beat DeLaHoya, I do that staring at the fridge. He then promptly dropped down weight to fight and beat Ricky Hatton.

Not sure where you are getting that.

It has very little to do with Manny anyway, I would be thinking it's Arum and Mayweather management, saber rattling over who is dictating what.

Manny has always said they can test after the fight in the dressing room, if they so desire. Or thirty days before the fight. They do random testing alot in the pros.

The latest is Manny (or mngrs) have agreed to the test before the fight, now Arum doesn't want the USADA doing the testing. The reason there may be because it is American based (who knows).

They have dragged this about as far as they can for publicity anyway, and I see this fight early next summer or not at all.

And oh! I've read the article. It's a pure number computation and conclusions. And that was few years ago. Why he didn't even include the most recent fights of Pacquiao and mayweather?

That's because Mayweather won by pure cheat! If he was on his decent mind that time, why would he still throw a punch to his opponent who was complaining to the referee?! That happened many times if you will just see the previous fights of Mayweather.

And I know majority of you folks saw his (Floyd) recent fight, you've seen he was staggered by Ortiz many times in rounds 1 and 2, before that crappy thing happened.

But the bottom point is, we don't actually know what will happened if the fight is on. It's just our opinions and own analysis. However, the truth prevails that we know nothing on what will happen

It would still be a good debate though.

let's just wait for the fight to push through
both camps are delaying the fight
for all we know it's some kind of
    marketing strategy.
were talking about 8 figures per fighter
that's a lot of $$$$ handing over in one night, in the line of sports

Nahh, Mayweather is just afraid of Manny. He only got a big mouth to talk any boastful words, but he always refuses Manny to a match. He even said Manny uses drugs or what ever because he know he can surely have a worst experience with him.

One way Manny could win if...

He psyches Mayweather into fighting him toe-to-toe much like the 1st Sugar Ray/Duran fight where Duran's antics induced Sugar Ray to give away his big advantage - his far superior boxing skills.

    But...

I have a feeling that Mayweather's corner will still urge him to not back up anyway, and it will really be on if he doesn't.
