Whether this is a marketing ploy or not, the story has had mass appeal with over 100,000 views and 40 bids on his product.

It's most likely real, but his story alone has caused so much publicity.

  • Well, it's up to 180 quid...and it's not even worth half that!

There is a book of crazy eBay auctions like this...you would be amazed at what has been sold and for what price...

Creative writing for eBay is an art in itself!

It did need to be shorter though... keep the vitriol...
and he could have just used "tager"

I would rename this thread 'GPS and Pencil Dick.' I'll bet the views would go through the roof.

Of course I would have quoted a couple of the funnier quips and referred to the link for the full story.

      Thanks for sharing.

Yeah lol! I've never seen an eBay listing like this before.

I can imagine 101,000 more eBay listing like this over the coming weeks. The reason email won't remove it is because of the number of people it's bringing to eBay 300,000+

But, the £10,000 price tag just might be a joke now. Either that, or someone with a very kind heart. There are some people with legitimate accounts bidding on it. Although, I suspect they are now taking part in the fun to gain the seller more publicity from so called legitimate bids.

It's been fun following this. I can imagine seeing this in one of the trend magazines in the UK shortly.

  • its currently at £10,000,000.00 - this has become a circus and he thinks he's the ringleader...but apparently Sun is, if that part is true...(didn't The Sun go down with Murdoch's minions?)

If he was somebody (?)... make a deal to mention a product or website in the "interview" he is looking to get.

He might be good for Facebook likes too!

    He has added:
Ignore the rediculous bids everyone it's just the few who want to ruin it for the rest...
I don't care if the SatNav doesn't sell I'm just glad that everyone is enjoying what I wrote...

Alas the question and answer listing is full and there are no more pages...
unless eBay can supply some more....
PLEASE eBay give the people what they want...

Still tomorrow I'll see about joining facebook and maybe meeting some of you all there

What a shame the listing is happered by a few simple minded people... C'est La Vie...
The writing was getting a crazy price - but it he could have gotten £270+ it would have been great!

This is an identical unit for aprox £45

When I checked early in the day it was up to £320. He would have probably got that based on his story, and someone with a kind a heart. But then people ruined it.

It's most likely The Sun, so they can print a funny story on page 5 or something.

There was someone selling I think black lace panties a while back with similar nasty things to say about the ex. Not that original.

I was looking for the correct details. Didn't find them but did find this funny site:

This is funny. I once tried to do something similar to this by selling my soul in a glass jar for £250,000. I got 100's of bids. Then eBay sent me a strike email and notice of listing removal as it was against site rules to list something that "cannot be tangibly verified upon receipt".
