What kind of a computer user are you?

What I mean is how hard do you ride your computer?

Personally I am at extreme end, I think, Since I am a cripple and a mild insomniac I am in front of this thing pretty much all the time.

Over the years I have been trying hard to figure out why my computers die so fast. At some point I realized that my "general use" computer is used as much and as hard as server does. I barely ever shut them down. So no wonder an average lifetime of my computers is about 9 months. That's including a very likely replacement of memory during that period. Hard drives last me usually half a year (safe for the backup drives). Keyboards and mice are pretty much throwaways after a few months.*Keyboard*I am on now is only two months old and I already barely see some of the keys and a couple get stuck from time to time.

I guess I should just buy a server. Alas who has that kind of money.

So what about you?

BTW I am so bad at typing that I still have to look at my keys to type.

I am currently using an HP pavilion Laptop PC. It has windows 7 and is coming on about 2 years old. I am happy with this machine.

First laptop that I have purchased. I had an older laptop that I was given in the past.

I've got an imac and I've pretty much used it to within an inch of it's life, it hardly ever gets turned off, have had to replace the keyboard once and every piece of software that comes pre installed with imacs has been utilized fully - itunes, imovie, iphoto, garageband etc.

Seeing no-one has addressed your question...

I'm the same at the extreme end. If I do manage to pull myself away from the computer to watch TV I'll only return during a ad break to check on emails. It's only when I'm out and about and away for the computer for hours I realize how hypnotizing it actually is and arguably how much mental "damage" it may be doing.

In my defense though, 95% of the time I'm being productive whilst I use the computer since it's my bread and butter.

I ride mine pretty hard 24/7. This is my "command center" featuring an over-powered browsing machine and an unnecessary amount of monitors to supplement my spare-time addiction to the Internet.

I'm currently in the process of becoming mildly obese whilst growing a 6" beard.

I am using Desktop. This is better choice for me. It is not so expensive for me. Desktop provide a best service to me and i do my any work in desktop without any problem.

      That is a cool setup

BTW, i think you will look like Brock Lesnar with the beard. But the difference is you are he wacks people with his hand, and you wack the keyboard with yours :p

I can't remember the last time I heard someone refer to themselves as "a cripple" rather than disabled.
