Hi all, I just wonder what is the last time you hug your parent ? Especially father? In Asian we quite seldom do this to show love to our parent, how about your?

I hug my parents any time I see them. A few weeks ago I was within about 20 minutes of their house but didn't have time to stop (I was driving my wife and some of the other women I coach to a race about an hour past their house and the schedule didn't work out.) My mother had just recently gotten home from the Phillipines so she was still jet-lagged and under the weather anyway. Will be heading up to visit her in a few weeks.

You know it has been a very long time since we hugged or anything. I guess some of us are not wired that way.

I always hug and kiss my parents. I am not one sided son. I love them both. And believe it or not, I'm already 22 years old and I still kiss my father every time I leave home.

I hug and kiss them both every time I see them. Usually it's 1nce or twice a week.

Kisses are like sands in an hour-glass. Eventually they come to an end. Sometimes you can see that end coming - but many times you can not. So it's best to cherish every one!

if it is not part of your culture, why change?

asian cultures have so much to offer so you do not need to blindly follow other cultures

It seems like all the answers are from people whose parents are still alive, so let me add another perspective...

Both of my parents are passed on and have been gone for 20+ years. I'd give anything to be able to hug them or to talk with them again. Not to be morbid, but someday yours will be gone too, so I hope you're smart enough to appreciate them while you can. There will never be anyone else in your life like them.
