Router - Ethernet Wire confusion..help

I want to connect my Computer to my router.

The computer is in a Different room to the router, so need a long Ethernet wire.

is this the kind of wire that would do the trick?

is this the correct wire?

    It does look like the correct wire to me.

    By any chance is your router wireless? Most routers now a days are wireless.

    Yep, that is the kind of cable. Many home routers DO seem to be wireless. If your computer is WIFI compatible, you can use IT. If it isn't, you can probably get an adapter. They typically have clear ranges up to 1000ft(about 300M) They can go up to 1Gbps. THAT is what the Cat5e designation means.

    You need a long ethernet cord for sure. I have the same issue and the long cord is what makes my pc work.

    Just like Steve and Patrick said thats the one. It looks like an over sized phone jack. You might be able to get one at walmart if you don't want to wait for delivery and if you are thinking about going wireless let me no what kind of router you have and I may be able to help

    If you go for Ethernet cable its should be long i think Patrick is right ,why don't you take wireless router there are many wireless routers available in a market.
