Did you get this PM spam also?

Hey Warriors!

Today I got some spam and it struck me as very odd and I'm wondering how many others got the same thing...

Okay here is what I got...

Subject: Rxxx Rxxxxxx's new "name of WSO" just launched...

Hi Coby,

Just to let you know that the WSO titled "Rxxx Rxxxxxx Reveals The Exact Secrets Of How xx In xxx..." has just been launched!

Thought for SURE you'd want to know!

So, I quoted the very last part "Thought for sure you'd want to know" and asked "and why did you think that?"

The reply was "you posted in a thread of Rxxx Rxxxxxx and I thought you'd like to know"


Why is a relatively new member with just enough posts to send PM's spamming me with someone's WSO thread link? How many others got this?

What do you think about this?

  • I haven't got this particular one, but I have got this in the past.

    If you aren't happy with the 2000+ people viewing the WSO forum you should create a better sales-copy, or a better product, not spam people PMs.

    These people don't know how business is done...
  • The Warrior Forum doesn't allow PM spam. Report the message and the spammer will be dealt with, probably with a little vacation.

    • I agree with the measures to report their message.
      This could be a problem in the future if no action taken.
    • Of course this was the first thing I did....
  • Yeah I do get this kind of message every now and then, just ignore it or report as they said. They are desperate for sales thats all.
  • I got that same exact PM. I thought it was kinda weird since I didn't even know who the person that sent it to me.

    • I haven't experienced any such spamming but i am unable to understand why your profile is being spammed .i hope we can curb this spamming.
  • I don't like getting these pm's... it's the equivalent of a double glazing sales man interrupting you in the middle of an episode of MacGyver.
  • Spammers are everywhere man, i haven't received any such PM but i believe if you find any abusive activity then you can report the message and forum guys will do the rest..
  • Never received any spam via PM here. Am I just lucky?

    • Exactly. PM spam is not tolerated here. I have reported several violations myself, and will continue to do so.

      I would suspect that with 16 posts PM spam is not an issue for you (yet).

  • I haven't gotten this one yet, but I do get random ones every now and then.

    • Same little red triangle that can be used to report posts appears on PMs, I think.

      If it's someone new here who seems to be running a reasonably serious business I would probably pm them to say "promotion by PM is not allowed here".

      I'm quick to report anyone abusing this forum but sometimes people don't mean to do something wrong. I use my own judgment.

  • I didn't get this one, but so far today I've won the Nigerian lottery via email and an Audi A3 from PirateBay.
  • I get a lot of this kind emails few months ago, I Just ignored it!. hahaha!

    • I received one but I'm pretty sure it wasn't the on in the OP.
  • I get those kinds of emails too.
    And I consider them as down-right annoying spam.
