All over the world...

CHARLESTON, SC September 30, 2011

A loud boom shook the coastal Lowcountry Wednesday morning, felt from Mount Pleasant to West Ashley. And once again, no one could say what caused it. Seismographs at the College of Charleston didn’t pick up any earthquake activity. The Charleston Air Force Base didn’t report any military aircraft creating sonic booms. No commercial vessels responded to a U.S. Coast Guard message asking for reports if it had been felt offshore. The reverberation most likely came from the “Seneca Guns,” a so-far-unexplained phenomenon felt along coasts around the world. Some experts speculate that the booms are caused by gases released from the sea floor, or undersea landslides along the Continental Shelf, or the echoed sound of distant thunder, or lightning-like electrical discharges, or even meteors crashing into the atmosphere at angles. The latest blast hit just before 10 a.m. “It was a pretty good shake, a pretty loud boom,” said Mark Reamer, who felt it in the Financial Management. “The mirrors on the wall rattled,” said Melinda Issacson, who was working out at home on James Island. Doors, windows and houses shook in Mount Pleasant and on Sullivan’s Island, according to Twitter reports. A West Ashley tweeter said it sounded like a gust of wind against the house. About the same time, a large tree fell across Hut Road on Johns Island and a nearby resident reported an explosion. But a tweeter in North Charleston said nothing was felt there. Small quakes and other booms are regular occurrences in the Lowcountry, where a series of faults converge underground. The last big shake was a temblor from the 5.8 Richter scale quake in Virginia in August. In March, a succession of three loud booms shook the coast that were widely believed to be the Seneca Guns.

Louisville Tennessee 09/28/2011

A series of loud, mysterious booms heard and felt by residents in the Lashbrooke neighborhood in Louisville over the last week remains a mystery.

It’s not coming from a nearby quarry, according to a representative from the Vulcan Materials Company. Carl VanHoozier, manager of process improvement, community relations and governmental affairs and land and geology for Vulcan, said that while the company has two other quarries located off U.S. Highway 321 in the Friendsville area, the only quarry currently in operation is located on Duncan Road in Maryville.

October 1, 2011 – TENNESSEE – The Lashbrooke subdivision in Louisville enjoyed a quiet and sun-bathed afternoon on Thursday. The peaceful surroundings of the affluent neighborhood along the Tennessee River lend no hint that its residents suffer from shell-shock. “It’s scary-loud. It’s loud enough that it makes your heart stop for a second,” said Andy Wombold. ”It sounds like a shotgun or an explosion of some kind.” Wombold and dozens of other residents in the neighborhood are unable to say exactly what “it” is. All they know is the mysterious booms have provided several rude awakenings that sent residents scrambling in fear. “Last Monday, about a week and a half ago, it was around 3 a.m. and it was, ‘Pow!’ All the sudden we heard a loud explosion. It sounded like it came from inside our house. It shook the walls. It shook the floor. It shook the ceiling,” said Wombold. “We thought maybe a gas line had exploded and maybe our house was going to blow up. We thought it was really serious,” said Wombold. “It was like lightning struck directly beside the house,” said neighbor Dwayne Jones. ”I jumped out of bed and ran outside. Then I saw a clear sky full of stars and knew it wasn’t lightning. The ground was still shaking for a little bit. It was like a big sonic boom. Just the whole house shakes. I never heard anything like it.” Several residents called emergency dispatchers and Blount County deputies responded to the scene. However, they were unable to find any problems in the neighborhood. Marian O’Briant with the Blount County Sheriff’s Office said deputies also checked with local rock quarries and confirmed there were no blasting operations. Residents said the booms continued for several days. “It would happen in the middle of the night, in the morning, at all different times,” said Jones. ”It was like they would get a little weaker as the days went by, but it was still really jarring. You generally heard one big boom and then a bunch of aftershocks in quick succession. I don’t know if it was an echo off the river or what,” said Wombold. A Tennessee National Guard spokesman confirmed there were no military operations in the area that would create the ground-shaking experience. T-DOT told 10News there are no construction projects in the area that could explain the noise. The USGS said there has only been one earthquake in Tennessee in the last couple of weeks. That tremor only registered 1.4 on the Richter magnitude scale and was in Tiptonville along the Mississippi River. “The other thing we figured is it might have been something with the power lines,” said Jones. “We have these very large lines that go directly through the neighborhood and across the river, but we never had any power outages.” TVA confirmed there have been no problems with the lines near the Lashbrooke subdivision. The mystery may be more difficult to solve as the frequency of the booms decreases. Wombold said it has been a couple of days since he last heard a boom while Jones indicated he has not noticed the noise since late last week. Blount County dispatchers said the last call they received about the booms was last week.

I heard some rumbles the other night but they weren't booms, most likely upper-atmospheric lightning. To be honest I'd need to hear it, living next to a large defense company I hear all kinds of noises.

Wow! And I thought I was going crazy! I've heard and felt them myself on two occasions!

After watching the video, I saw a few things that were similar to that Andy Wombold guy's situation:

I too live by the water
I too live by a military base (Aviation)
I too live in a killer house like that guy!

Just kidding, about the killer house

But yeah, it is a pretty friggin scary phenomena.

BTW, I live in Washington state.

For years, there has been strong speculation it might be an advanced military recon jet, rumored to be Aurora, which may have attained the speed of Mach 6 or even higher. Sightings are sometimes seen as a "triangular" profile with an unusually high aerodynamic manueverabilty and agility. The "boom", also known as skyquakes, are a phenomenal effect when exceeding or decelerating from the sound barrier.

If you don't understand it you should consider getting someone to explain it to you.

Information needs to spread quicker so people don't have dumb questions like "what are these booms.. from the gods?!? ahhh end of the world 2012!!!!!"
All they need to do is hit "search" in here - I've discussed the current pole shift fairly often - and I think rather thoroughly.

I would not have thought of the booms being related but it sure makes some sense. This last year was the most extreme in the current shift - land mass started to shift toward the North Pole's current position and caused several major quakes - all 10 or 35 km deep across the board. Never seen that before in 6 years of tracking. There's been a lot of small quakes 4 mag and under going on in all the states mentioned on your list, too.

I'm thinking you are right that they are caused by the pole shift. Not sure exactly how that would be, if land shift or localized magnetic anomolies would cause the sound, but it's the best theory I've heard to date.

Congratulations. I think you just won the cookie.

So you travel all over the globe making it appear to be polar shift related phenomena? What the heck is wrong with you? You have a cute little dog - why don't you just use the standard excuse? Jeez Dennis - you've got people praying for safety over pizza, chili, and beer?

I know this is an old topic, but does anybody know this Jean-Marc Defague personally?

He was the owner of the well known scamm site surfjunky.com.
He's also the one who scammed me for $5k all the way back to November 2006 with a business proposal offered through eBay.

We communicated very often, but after my deposit he never replied to any of my messages. And believe me, I have tried everything to get in contact with him.
I know he reads my messages because I got personally blocked on his twitter account.

From what I've heard, he has scammed over many people and got VERY rich of it. When you search his name on Google you also see he has been in court for several scam things, but somehow he doesn't care.

He wrote on another forum that he left his "bad days" behind and got everything sorted out. Well, everytime I request my refund he ignores/blocks me or whatever... He has not changed at all, and it hurts me to see that he get's positive response on his loophole theories etc.

This guy should be in jail...

          Sorry guys, just frustrations here...

My first thought was a sonic boom. They usually come in twos, as I recall. BOOM....BOOM! And they CAN shake windows. It could be something as simple as jets being misrouted and breaking the law. Sometimes they don't exactly follow the law on short runways, etc... Most jets CAN go fast enough to create sonic booms, but are limited to like .8Mach over US soil. The concord, if you remember, was given a special exemption and only at like 1 or 2 airports in the US. That may also explain the fact tat the frequency sounded lower than I remember. As A kid, I heard a LOT of sonic booms. I guess the laws weren't there in the 60s and early 70s. ALSO, in like the 90s(may have been the late 80s), I heard some sonic booms in my last job. It turned out that they rerouted the space shuttle, and it flew near where I was working.

People will believe what they want to believe. There's a MOD range about 15 miles or so from where I live and in between is about 10 miles of open water between Essex and Kent. There's often booms heard from the explosions there, travelling from one coast to the other and beyond. Sometimes it feels like a car or lorry or something has crashed into the house because of the noise and the shockwave through the house.
