When I was a kid, I went trick or treating as a hobo; My dad burnt a cork to rub
the soot on my face, and I wore my Grand Father's old work clothes and shoes.

What was your best costume when you were knocking on neighbor's doors for
candy?

    HOLLOWEEN holla lol I love halloween, although over here in the UK it's not as big as in the states but it seems to be getting bigger and more commercial each year, my best costume was an evil clown that got me best costume award at the party

    Not necessarily my best costume, but a funny story.

    A couple of years ago I put on Dracula mask and a trench coat to greet the trick-or-treaters.

    Every thing was going fine until this little girl, about 5 years old, came to the while her
    dad waited in the driveway.
    As soon as she saw me she turned around and went running to her dad and screamed "Get him Daddy!"
    Her dad frowned at me and tried to apologize but he just said "You got what you wanted" and they left.
    I felt terrible about scaring her so I took off the costume for the rest of the evening.

    Funny story ICOMBS;
    Glad to hear Holloween is coming back the UK.

    Last year, a little girl, about five, came to our door dressed as an Angel.
    She had a little wand in her hand, a halo on her head, and two white wings.

    When I opened the door, I asked her, " are you a real Angel? " She immediately
    replied, " no I am not really an Angel, this is just a costom my mom bought me. "

    She may have been wearing just a costome, to her, but I know an Angel when I see one,
    and she was an Angel for sure! -)

    I guess I need to change my username.
    This is the second time in 2 days I've been called "icombs".
    It's LCombs. (No big deal. Just thought I'd clear that up).

    Anyway, Halloween in the U.S. is the second biggest holiday after Christmas.

    My favorite costume was my storm cloud costume - full suit of fluffy cotton with black and grey streaking, silver lightning bolts in my hair and on the suit - hair sprayed black and white - and of course a squirt gun....because it's not nice to f*** with Mother Nature. And it was warm enough for our 0 degree halloweens.

    Love that holiday.

    When I used to trick or treat, I wore a Scream costume (originating from the series of movies Scream 1, 2, 3 & 4). Used to get so much candy and sometimes scare the parents.
