H-O-R-R-O-R...Kurt...I remember that Cheech and Chong routine too.
Cheech, "What are ya' watchin', man?" Chong, "A horror movie, man". Cheech, "Oh yeah, man. That's Jane Fonda". Chong, "No, man. A HORROR movie".
Can't really say any horror movie has scared me in any scenes...real life on the other hand is a different story.

As someone has mentioned up above, The Ring was impressive when it first came out. I thought it was innovative and different and I've been meaning to see the Japanese original for some time.

I saw that movie first, then watched it with my (then) girlfriend...speed dialed her phone as soon as it ended...wish I could have kept a straight face longer, but was still a classic for me.

I would actually be curious to know how many people around the world did that to there other half's.

        Hey Jim...

No one said it had to be scary...

The question was "our Favourite Horror Movie Moments" and my favorite moments from horror movies were when Jamie Lee took off her top. I just prefer boobs to bullets.

(I think some forget she started her career as the "Scream Queen"...)

Don't want you feel like you're all alone here Kurt.

This is definitely one of my favorites in the "boobs in horror" category:

Yeah I heard that blair witch project is very disturbing but I haven't seen it yet.
My choice is paranormal activity 1 because when I was watching it, my friend told me it was a real story and reenactment . Then I search it over the web till I found out that it was not real story. waa haha

Having been a horror movie buff for as long as I can remember it's difficult to pick just one.
But, The greatest fight scene in movie history is right up there.
    King Kong vs. the T-rex.

My favorite scene from a horror movie is in the movie Carrie where she is at the gym and the blood starts to fall.

Like I said before, there are so many it' almost impossible to choose just 1.

This is definitely one of the top classic scenes:

    The Changling.
George C. Scott throws the rubber ball into the river.

If we can't have Jamie Lee...How about the scene in Wait Until Dark when Alan Arkin jumps out of the darkness at Audry Hepburn?

Some I can remember are the scene from "The Grudge" (American part 1) where the girl comes down from the attic in that closet making that ridiculous noise. Another was whatever Exorcist movie that was where the nurse goes to check the patient in the hospital room and the camera is down the hall and then when she leaves, the killer follows her out of the room with some shears. I also like that really creepy movie Lost Highway and that scene at the party where that eerie looking guy tells him he's at his house, yet is standing there talking to him in person. There are others, these just stood out in my head at the moment.

Shining bathroom scene was one of my favorites, too. I've watched every horror flick I could find - not mostly slasher flicks but supernatural and there's just so many scenes that were awesome.

    Poltergeist -- "They're heeere".
Sixth Sense -- when he realizes HE's the ghost.
Philadelphia Project - when the ship reappears and there are guys melded with deck of the ship.

Blair Witch sucked. If I'd paid to see that I'd have asked for a refund.

IT - I preferred the book. In Colorado when they opened gaming in Central City and Blackhawk, one of the casinos put a mechanical clown holding balloons. It would smile and turn side to side at the waist. Every time I saw it I expected it to grin with sharp teeth. Spooked the hell out of me.

Most of my favorite moments in horror were in books though. My favorite lighter moment in a horror book was in Schrieber's Wolfen - when the husband turns into the werewolf and the neighbor guy comes on to his wife so he bites the guy and the guy calls animal control and the werewolf ends up in the dog pound. LMAO.

Loved the paranormal activity series and looking forward to the 3rd and even Insidious was good too. Much more fun to let your imagination play up the scary bits.

Salem's Lot scared the heck out of me when I was a kid. The scene where the vampire was floating and knocking on the window was really creepy and has brought a lot of sleepless nights.
