As requested, I am moving my ST saga to the OT forum.

I started a ST site, and I am following people that are either Trekkies or the actors that Trekkies love.

Right now, I am filling up the site/blog with personal ramblings of mine. I have not started to monetize it yet, but I am in the process of finding affiliate programs and other items to put on there (Amazon, etc.).

This project has been so fun! I am not even worried about $$$ at this point - I want to see where it leads.

Will update soon!

      Hi Shay,

Wondering if you could post a link to your site or just send a PM?

Being a fellow die hard ST fan from waaayyyy back in the Capt. Kirk days,
my sons have no idea what I find fascinating about all the different series.

They beg me not to do my Capt. Kirk impressions anymore. :p

Now I use that to threaten them if they don't help around the house...

Are you guys going to go see the new movie? It looks really good and I can't wait to see it. The list of actors and actresses that they have lined up for it looks pretty incredible as well. I think John Cho is going to make a fantastic Sulu.

That is the main reason I haven't started anything before now. After consulting with other Warriors, I believe I have come up with a "safe" name (no ST mentioned in the title or the domain) and have the proper disclaimers on it.

ST, my favorite. When I was watching it, I'd become ignorant to everything else

Shay, can you post link to your website?

BTW, where can I find trailer of the new movie?

    Thanks,

      Here it is for you Sjukun;

I can't wait to see it; as a Trekkie first and foremost, but if I'm honest, I'm really excited to see Eric Bana in the role of the villain!

      Here he his in my favourite film of his, "Chopper";

If you haven't seen "Chopper" yet and are interested, be warned, it is VERY violent; (but then again what would you expect from a movie loosely based around the life of Mark Brandon "Chopper" Read)!

      Shay,

I'd also love to have a look at your new site! It sounds like a very good idea.

Its life Jim, but not as we know it

Leonard Nimoy/Spock .... still involved with the
        latest film I understand.

Dunno, but it seems to have become too angst
and relationship oriented for my taste. It seems to
have become almost too polished. Hopefully, the
        latest film will prove different.

        Live long and prosper

Guys, my new site is really, really bare at this point. Let me get it a little more filled with content and I will post a link in my siggy, okay?

I am definitely going to see the movie. I will reserve judgement for it until after I see it.

I have to say that I am so disappointed that there hasn't been a movie centered around the Voyager crew. Or a mix of Voyager and other crews - I'm not picky. I really enjoyed the Voyager series and I was hoping to see a continuation of the Voyager storyline. Seeing cameos of Janeway just doesn't cut it. I want to see 90+ minutes of the Voyager crew.

We have had the original crew era of movies, and of TNG - now I am really ready for ST:VOY to have their time in the sun.

ETA: I was never a huge fan of DS9, but a movie with DS9 and VOY would be okay with me.

Does anyone read the novels? I find that most are very well-written and appealing. (String Theory was fairly plodding and boring, though - a trilogy involving the Voyager crew.)

I've read some of the novels. The last one I read was "The Return." That should've been a movie!

Currently, if you call it that since it's been a while since I've read any of it, I'm reading "To Reign in Hell" which covers Khan's years on Ceti Alpha V after "The Space Seed."

String Theory was indeed rather dull. I have the majority of the Voyager novels as well as the other series. Many are very well written and others, well, not so much.

I wholeheartedly agree, cameos are not enough. I had really hoped that a Voyager/TNG crossover involving a temporal anomaly (similar to what occurred in First Contact) might happen but no.

I'm very disappointed that the new movie isn't about Voyager's crew.

Why would it need to involve a temporal anomaly? TNG and Voyager are the same era. I mean, TNG happened before Voyager, of course, but the movies pretty much took place contemporaneously with Voyager.

I'm disappointed it's a reboot and not a continuation. I'd like a movie with Captain Riker. Maybe mix some of the TNG, DS9 and VOY crew like they have in the novels.

It wouldn't have to involve a temporal anomaly. I'd be quite happy with simply more of the Voyager crew.

I'd also like to see a continuation. There are several great story lines in the novels that would work well as a movie.

I really feel like the ending of the Voyager series left a WHOLE lot of questions unanswered that would be great for a movie. (For example, I really hope Chakotay came to his senses and forgot 7 of 9 and went after Janeway. JMHO and YMMV)

You ever think that's their underhanded way of selling you even more stuff? You join as an affiliate, and you check out products to carry, and you end up buying cool stuff that you want that you might not have otherwise found if you weren't looking for things to promote.

                    Unanswered questions, for sure.

For me, it seemed that there was quite a gap between the second last episode and "Endgame," the final episode. I had certainly never pictured Chakotay with 7 of 9.

That did seem to come out of nowhere.

Then again, look at the final episode of Enterprise... Shran seemingly falling down quite a bit in his position seemed odd, Trip's death was completely pointless and really forced. Then, you get a build up to Archer's speech, but you never actually get to see the speech.

Maybe the next movie will be a conglomeration of TNG, DS9 and Voyager crews. That would make my day.

It would be great if members of TOS would also be involved - truly historic.

Maybe we're both wrong... Maybe it's just due to new users coming on Twitter from the recent news mentions?
                              Hmmmmm....could be. Not sure.

Most of the new followers look pretty normal (well, except for Mr. Klingon. LOL) - so not sure if they are following me because of the sci fi tweets or not.

Right now, I'm battling it out with a serial unfollower. He follows me, I follow him. Like 10 minutes later, he'll unfollow me. So, I'll unfollow him back. Then, he follows me again. Thinking maybe it was a mistake on his part or maybe a Twitter glitch, I followed him back. About 10 minutes later, he unfollowed me again. So, I unfollowed him back. Then, he followed me back again. And I reciprocated. I'm sure he'll be unfollowing me again shortly.

At this point, it's just a curiosity to see how long he keeps this up. Plus, he's not actually tweeting anything during all this time either.

I think he's trying to build up his following by unfollowing people after they follow him and hoping they don't notice.

Is he at his limit for following people?

No. He has a little over 500 followers. He follows 200, the unfollows until he's down to about 100 and repeats the cycle.

He followed me again, but now he's unfollowed me again after I didn't follow him back within 30 minutes.

I don't know what kind of strategy he's employing, but it doesn't strike me as a very good one.

His last go around, he had a net loss of a few followers. Right now, he's unfollowing people again.

I wonder how long before he gets banned for suspicious activity?

And, he's not even a marketer or anything. It's not like he's one of those spammers that just follows a bunch of people to try to get them to visit their sales page or something.

Holy cow. This guy does have issues! Now he's down to waiting 10 minutes. Seriously. And, apparently, he unfollows people whether they are following him back or not.

                                            This is very, very strange.

Well, kids, I have hit a snag. Apparently, my domain name wasn't quite generic enough to suit the Amazon people.

Sooooooooooooo....I think I am going to make the site more of a non-specific sci-fi site.

I have some generic scifi domains. One maybe too negative, and the other two are probably too lame.

But, if you act now, you can get them for just half a million dollars. Each. LOL!

There are Klingon translation sites - have you tried those?

Are there ones where you can paste the text and it'll translate it? I haven't come across one like that. The ones I've found want me to look up one word at a time.

I wonder how you say "The weak and the cowardly have no place in shuffleboard!" in Klingon? LOL!
