      - Calm before the storm (what? was it stormy before the storm?)
      - Hot water heater (should be a cold water heater. Hot water doesn't need heating)

      This one drives me crackers:

      Meteoric rise.

Meteors do not rise. Their defining characteristic is that they plummet headlong to the ground.

PS And don't get me started on "slightly unique".

well maybe not oxy but definitely moronic:

    'you are the bomb'.

it is 'you are the balm'.

yet i never see a single person who realizes the difference

    balm is soothing, healing, nice.

    bomb is anything but.

    yeah, you kill me...

The only ones I could contribute would be ones I would be personally identified with:

    Wooden Nickel - personal worth
Butt Head - been called that, of course
Pretty Ugly - yep, been called that too.
Living Fossil - my age, I guess
Low Rise - jeans, used to wear 'em - see previous oxymoron

Could come up with some more
but it would be ==> Sadly Funny (???)
    Cheers

Many of the greatest musicians in History purposely use "oxymoron's" for effect.

For instance right now I'm listening to a song (from "The Stereophonics") called: "Hurry Up And Wait."

There are literally many thousands of them. : )
