When The Universe Speaks It Pays To Listen

Last night late I did a favor for a friend. It was a small thing for me but apparently a big thing for them. Within 5 minutes I noticed I had a new email. A guy I hadn't heard from in a month bought a domain name for $180. Who buys a domain name at 1:53 AM? I replied and he was still online. At 2:06 he owned the domain and I had the money in my account. I must have had things like this happen a zillion times in my life. A month or so ago I gave a homeless guy $5. A few minutes later I bought a dollar scratch ticket and it paid - drumroll - $6. Gave me a real laugh. Anyone else have things like this happen.

I would venture to say most people have things like that happen, but many don't notice them or don't make a connection between them. Sometimes the connections are drawn out over a long period of time so they may not be that obvious.

Here's an obvious example though . . . when I started my first website I answered a lot of web design questions, sometimes spending several hours each day at it. My reward? One of the people I'd helped was the webmaster for a book publisher, and he suggested to them that they have me write a book for them. I got a phone call out of the blue one day, and within a month I had a book deal.

I did some writing for someone's charity once and ended up with a well paid order from a new client from it. Life is full of coincidences - only that's just what they are called. If you follow them they usually lead somewhere you need to go. I always follow a coincidence. Some of the results were the dog I now have and the car I now drive. Never question a clue that the universe throws you. Just follow it. The meaning will become clear later on even if you can't see it at the time.

Old man in front of me in the grocery store was counting out change from a change purse and was less than $2 bucks short. I gave the cashier the money.

Couple hours later ordered a coolatta at Dunkin Donuts. They didn't make what I ordered (they realized it themselves) so they remade the order and asked me if I wanted to take the other one with me for free. About a $4 value. Of course I took it and put it in the freezer at home for another day.

You're right Dennis. People need to pay more attention. I don't think the universe really has much use for time. That's a people invention. (and have a good laugh about it sometimes.)

When you hear someone telling you what YOU can't do, they are usually talking about what THEY can't do.
