A Warrior Gave Me a Gift.

There is a warrior here, who I have known and interacted with for about 3 1/2 years now or more... "Bruce Ruby".

Bruce is like a Warrior angel to me, who always comes in at just the right moments... always touches my heart somehow... He's also experienced and knowledgeable and I respect his e business disposition.

Yesterday I opened my email at a low energy moment...and saw a note from him that said "I thought your WSO page looked boring, so I made you a Banner...". and he gave me the link to the banner. My energy was suddenly moved and overwhelmed by a person going out of their way to do something for another person, for no other reason than because they are a friend... and that person yesterday was "me".

"JUST BECAUSE".

"Just Because".

Bruce, you are a good man, and a good Warrior, and a good friend for anyone to look up to. Just had to say how meaningful that was. Its my favorite banner now...because of the spirit in which it was given.

Me an Bruce "get" each other.

Its cool having Warrior friends isnt it?

What Warrior can you gift today?

What Warrior can "I" gift today...?

Lets all be more like Bruce, a true blue comrade in arms! Lets make someones day today, like Bruce made mine!

Sometimes being given to, we realize what a special thing it is to "Give". Bruce reminded me of that yesterday!

    Actually there are a lot of Warriors that have done things for me "just because" and there are a lot of Warriors I have done things for,"just because".

    One,that I didn't know at the time but have gotten to know,is named John Durham.

    PS: I could never name them all because I have been here about 14(?) years,but Pat,Sal,Thom,Kurt,Andie,Jody,etc,etc,the list goes on and on..

    So you get it then... They say giving can be enlightening, but receiving is also enlightening.

    For instance, receiving can be harder to do than giving sometimes for some, and the enlightenment that comes from it is just as amazing.

    Sometimes I dont know how to feel when I receive, but Im always moved... Never quite expect it... It can be overwhelming when people show you kindness...

    But like for you Kim, it also shows how much it means to be a giver...and so you give of yourself more than others.... because you know the special feeling of receiving and what it can mean to a person... Im rambling...Need to get to work. lol

    No time to be philosophical this morning, though I could be that way all the time if you let me.

    Mornin Kimbo!

    One last note, according to Kahlil Gibran, in the prophet...Giving and receiving contain equal enlightenment, and one is no higher than the other... This is beautiful. I'm out.:

    Giving

    THEN said a rich man, "Speak to us of Giving."

    And he answered:

    You give but little when you give of your possessions.

    It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.

    For what are your possessions but things you keep and guard for fear you may need them tomorrow?

    And tomorrow, what shall tomorrow bring to the overprudent dog burying bones in the trackless sand as he follows the pilgrims to the holy city?

    And what is fear of need but need itself?

    Is not dread of thirst when your well is full, thirst that is unquenchable?

    There are those who give little of the much which they have - and they give it for recognition and their hidden desire makes their gifts unwholesome.

    And there are those who have little and give it all.

    These are the believers in life and the bounty of life, and their coffer is never empty.

    There are those who give with joy, and that joy is their reward.

    And there are those who give with pain, and that pain is their baptism.

    And there are those who give and know not pain in giving, nor do they seek joy, nor give with mindfulness of virtue;

    They give as in yonder valley the myrtle breathes its fragrance into space.

    Through the hands of such as these God speaks, and from behind their eyes He smiles upon the earth.

    It is well to give when asked, but it is better to give unasked, through understanding;

    And to the open-handed the search for one who shall receive is joy greater than giving

    And is there aught you would withhold?

    All you have shall some day be given;

    Therefore give now, that the season of giving may be yours and not your inheritors'.

    You often say, "I would give, but only to the deserving."

    The trees in your orchard say not so, nor the flocks in your pasture.

    They give that they may live, for to withhold is to perish.

    Surely he who is worthy to receive his days and his nights is worthy of all else from you.

    And he who has deserved to drink from the ocean of life deserves to fill his cup from your little stream.

    And what desert greater shall there be than that which lies in the courage and the confidence, nay the charity, of receiving?

    And who are you that men should rend their bosom and unveil their pride, that you may see their worth naked and their pride unabashed?

    See first that you yourself deserve to be a giver, and an instrument of giving.

    For in truth it is life that gives unto life - while you, who deem yourself a giver, are but a witness.

    And you receivers - and you are all receivers - assume no weight of gratitude, lest you lay a yoke upon yourself and upon him who gives.

    Rather rise together with the giver on his gifts as on wings;

    For to be overmindful of your debt, is to doubt his generosity who has the free-hearted earth for mother, and God for father.

    Thanks for sharing, I think we should help each other instead of treading each other as competitions.

    John, you receive of others because you give of yourself. You're one of the guys I'd want on my side when I needed a friend. You just keep being you.
