  • Geez, Gareth!

To answer your question, spambot, er I mean Navpit, no. China was trying to become the new superpower but the world economic collapse screwed up their plans.

    • I thought collapsing the world's economy WAS THEIR PLAN?

  • Tommy, how many times do we have to tell you that having a basement full of drunk Russians is not the same as having that superpower?

I wonder if it hurts the bot's feelings when we flame it? We slam it around and it keeps getting sent back here to get slammed around again. Maybe the bots need to start a rebellion.

    What is going on?
  • Not a lot Derek - they haven't gotten into the swing of really bashing it up around here yet. And of course with rumors of one being a bot, well.....ya know we had to come in and trash it up a bit for them.

  • um please don't give anybody any ideas.
  • Since a super-power is generally defined as a state powerful enough to project its military, economic, and political power on a global scale, then the U.S., most large European nations (particularly the U.K., France, and Germany), Israel, Russia, China, India, Japan, and Australia are all superpowers.

None of them need to "rise to" that status - they're already there.
  • If all great nations are typified by the amount of 'BLARNEY' they have.

So apparently Thomas is very, very super powerful.
  • To be honest, you people have no idea how powerful I really am.

I masquerade as an ordinary human because, to reveal my true nature, would make your delicate little human brains implode like a submarine sunk too deep.

And I can't have that on my (vastly superior) conscience even though, morally, it would cause me little more angst that stepping on a puny ant. However, I like ants... therefore, I extend the same liking to you ordinary humans.

    Be thankful for that.

    • I must tell you that a few more sessions at the interplanetary finishing school would not be a bad investment of your time.

  • Incidentally, I plan on making Ireland the next global superpower: All of our enemies will be thoroughly talked to death.

  • Since this thread is not deleted by the mod, then this must be answered.

Is China the new super power?

Definitely NOT. USA, though in crisis is still the world's super power. ButI'm also thinking of Japan. There economy is quite stable amidst the global financial crisis.

    • I'm sorry. This is the Off-Topic Forum and you're not allowed to bring the thread back onto topic.
  • Someone once said God created beer to keep Ireland from ruling the world.

Only met one guy from Ireland though, wouldn't want to cross him.

    • Thought there was only one guy from Ireland -- and he's here.

You're right, you don't want to cross him -- he'll use his superpowers to make your fingernails grow longer.
