The Odds of Buying Your Domain Name

Out of curiosity, I would like to know anyone who made a sale when you placed your domain name on auction.

I recently just placed a domain I own named "myeasyprofit.com". Would that be a profitable name?

I just need opinions.

I sold exactly one on Yahoo auctions in the last year. Two, with small sites, on Flippa. I do much better with my own efforts. Go up to the War Room and search out a thread by Gene Pimentel. If its still there you can learn a lot from that thread.

When you hear someone telling you what YOU can't do, they are usually talking about what THEY can't do.

Thank you so much! I'll most definitely do that. I really hope it sells, but I guess my price is steep.

What is "steep"? You registered that domain last month - so why would it be worth a lot more 30 days later? That's confusing to me.

A number of people feel that ANY domain, ESPECIALLY if it has words, has a lot of value. Of course, a domain in itself has little base value, and for words, this one is borderline, in my opinion. The words seem to limit the market, aren't often said but are generic, etc... I COULD maybe see paying dozens of dollars. Hundreds? I doubt it. Then again, there IS that burning match theory!

BTW shaunixlol, you COULD make it maybe worth thousands by having a nice program that is useful on it with relevant data. Even a wordpro site with well written articles in a nice, or better, a good commercial site. Of course, it is BETTER if it has a good continuous evenue stream. So:

    $7 name
    $100 software
    data
bringing in maybe $30/month or $360 year

Someone may pay upwards of $1200 for the package. Of course that could take several hours or days worth of work. And maybe a couple months to build a pattern with a nice trend.

I suppose you're right. I should write articles about monetizing and whatnot. I never thought of using it and hopefully selling it after. Thanks!

Domain names aren't usually worth anything really.

If you can make a profit with the website or build a brand around it or something of that nature, then you have something to worry about.
