You click on someone's WF profile with intent to befriend, & see that their current activity is Reporting a post. Am I the only one that immediately clicks away? lol

  • Nah. A lot of the time, they are probably the better people to get in contact with.

    Think of it this way.

You could be a friend with a scammer or an honest person.

    Which would you choose?

    Probably the latter, right?

haha, I hear you. I was thinking about that too... If they're reporting some obvious scammy crap, more power to em. At the same time though, I tend to talk a lot of sh!t & don't want some narc reporting me without good reason. Just never know.

  • I haven't ever tried formally initiating the WF process befriending anyone. Never reported on anyone, either, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if someone reported on me (for politically tinged comments or whatever)

Yeah I think I'm like one of 3 people on here that attempts to "befriend" people. lol I'm just friendly I guess.

  • I rarely "friend" someone on here. But I do get a lot of friend requests.

But more than that, I get about 3-5 adds on Skype daily. It gets old quick lol.

Unless I ask someone to friend me on Skype, don't do it unless we talk privately first O.o Haha.

    • What is the purpose of befriending someone if I may ask?

I asked this once before because I logged on and someone had sent a friend thingy to me but I have no idea why.

I don't speak to the person or e-mail them or pm them or anything so I am not sure what its purpose is.

  • As for the post above, I don't see anything wrong about it.

You may have posted something that is coincidentally the same as the one who wanted to befriend you. He/she may have the same feelings towards a subject that you have already posted.

A JV in the making perhaps?

I'm sure people have different reasons for friending on here. If I send you a seemingly random friend request it's because of at least one of the following reasons:
    1) you seem pretty cool
    2) your posts are interesting/useful/funny
    3) your avatar leads me to believe that you are cute
    4) you may know something geeky & important that I don't
    5) you live in Vegas or somewhere of interest to me
or 6) I'm just bored & befriending people.

No harm done, I think. So far 9 people agree. Befriending on here is probably a form of bookmarking too... someone may want to check up on your posts from time to time.
  • Are you implying you like bad boys? If so, you could be my new best friend...

  • The question that has never been answered is this, wht is the implication of friending someone? On FB it means I can see your profile, pictures etc, on twitter you tweets are on my timeline etc. Is there an implication/advantage of friending other than a seemingly meaningless request.
