Strangely, my toddler causes a lot of attractive women to talk to me. Not sure why. Cute babies have that effect on some women I guess. I don't know how it compares to walking around with a little bison frise dog.

I can tell you first hand that rotweiller puppies have the same effect on people, but full grown rotties seem to have the opposite effect, except on cool people like me.

I dunno Kurt - guys rarely passed by Munch and I without a few words. Of course, they stood back several feet while speaking. I would so love to believe that it's my awesome assets that stopped these guys in their tracks.....but since they don't stop nearly as often without the huge beautiful purebred beast in tow, I'm thinking that might not be a valid assumption.

When I walked my full grown rotty, I could see people walking towards me a block or two away cross the street to avoid "us". I haven't had the same thing happen by myself. He was also great at getting rid of solicitors and anyone else that came to the door without my permission...And he would wag his "nub" when they knocked, not bark.

There are pluses and minuses to both lifestyles and IMHO the pluses outweigh the minuses.

Not necessarily true Jenson. I sometimes miss my single years (5 years ago). BUt when I think of all the money I wasted in beer and one night stands I met at discos, I just prefer life as it is now.

I am still young (27 years old ) and most of my friends are single yet but I don't envy their lives. I definitely prefer mine. Yes, money is an issue when you have to raise kids, especially when you have twins as I do, but I prefer to spend that money in ice cream and vitamin supplements for kids that in beer. I am way happier now.

Yes, IMHO it really depends on where you are in your life and what makes you happy.

LOL - Munchie would growl his face off - and if you dared reach for the door yourself without me letting you in he'd lunge real quick and let you know that mom didn't say it was okay yet. In his whole life he never allowed anyone in the car and he left those that approached with no misconception whether it was safe to open the door or not.

I used to tell religious peddlers that I was giving them 30 seconds to hit the road and if they were still in the yard I was opening the door. It was fun to watch them run - especially the fat ones with high heels. LOL. Yeah okay - that's mean, but I HATE it when people peddle religion door to door. For cripes sakes, ideologies are not Tupperware. And I never claimed to be nice anyhow - so save the pm's.

It depends also on the person as well. I'm 33 and totally, or mostly, enjoy being single. I've had women live with me and have been engaged and even been in a long term relationship with a woman with a 3 year old that I loved. You really have 2 choices, imo. You can have children early which means that you'll have more time after 40ish once the kids are out of the house or at least adults living with you. The other alternative is to enjoy your youth and have kids later. It's really up to the individual, although at times, it's not necessarily a planned choice to have kids and/or people don't always plan when they're younger.

And life is not all about partying and going to bars every night just because you're single. Many guys like to watch sports with their friends at any point without having to let anyone know as well as playing video games, going to bed when they want, eating what they want when they want it, watching whatever they want on tv, going out a couple times a week to socialize, etc. There are many freedoms to it. The downsides are not having a consistent sex life in many cases, as well as, the love and affection and security that come with being in a relationship. Both have their pros and cons and you just need to go after what is important to you at this particular time in your life.

Oh and I liked The Change Up. I found it entertaining and funny in many places. Plus I like both actors in that movie, Reynolds and Bateman.
