Manny Wins - Now For The Fight Of The Century...

Manny Pacquiao escapes in his 3rd encounter with Marquez setting up a possible bout with Floyd Mayweather in the middle of 2012.

I didn't buy the fight but I heard that Marquez gave as good as he got.

It seems like every great fighter has at least one fighter who gives him trouble and Marquez fits the bill for Manny.

Manny takes a lot of punches from fighters not as skilled as Floyd.

If they fight Manny can't out box Floyd.

I see the fight turning out much like the Ali-Frazier fights with a master boxer against a clever, hard hitting and relentless fighter willing to take a punch to deliver a punch.

Anything can happen.

I'd pay to see them get it on and this will undoubtedly be the fight of the century.

I didn't see the fight either...But from what I read, Marquez should have won and the crowd booed Manny when the decision was announced.

I guess I'll have to wait until this Saturday night to see the replay.

Marquez has always been a problem for Manny.

I really hope Manny & Mayweather get it on.

      BTW...

      Congrats on your Broncos.

Marquez has the style that obviously has got Manny's number...it's happened to many champs. One albatross.
Unfortunately Manny has a rematch clause for Marquez.

Bob Arum is already talking about a May (I believe) rematch.
To me that would be a mistake on Manny's (managements) part.
These type of fights that are so close (especially at that level), take a lot out of a fighter, and obviously with Floyd actually being a better boxer, Manny needs everything he has left.

Whether this is designed to draw out Mayweather, is anybodies guess.

    Lets hope so.

I had seen the fight live. It was very close indeed. The fight could have gone either way.

I was stunned that Manny, after defeating big guys like Margarito, Cotto, Clottey, Dela Hoya and Hatton, would have a hard time fighting Marquez. It was as if Marquez has Pac's number all along even if he fell a bit short on the scorecards and Compubox.

    Jun;

I didn't see the fight, but I read that Marquez's corner told him he was ahead, so
he did not finish as strong as he should have to win the fight. You were there, what
was the last two rounds like?

Oh man the last two rounds were intense. Marquez was mostly picking his spots and landed the clean shots. Pac on the other hand was the aggressor. That I think is the reason why he got the nod from 2 of the judges. (The third one scored 114-114.)

However when Pac was proclaimed as the victor, most of the Mexican crowd shouted boos on the verdict. They even throw empty bottles in the ring. Because they believed that Marquez got robbed. Bigtime.
