Ok, with holiday season on way, I've been looking to buy someone else a new laptop and in the process I have decided I need a little something for myself.

I've been doing some mobile marketing stuff, but my big faux pas is I don't currently own a mobile device to display to businesses what their site looks like and what it could.

I was browsing over here and someone was kind enough to reveal you can get a used ipod touch as a stand in.

Then today I hit the apple site and the new Ipod touch is only $200! Now I realize that is only 8gb, but it will also work with the cloud - so I really need to worry about apps more than anything.

I decided if I'm going to get one, I may as well get the new one. But I need to really justify this so I don't feel like I'm just being a spoiled brat with this extra device. Otherwise I should get the old one. I am also wanting to know what are the must have apps.

So I need help. I need you all to tell me what other things I can do with this ipod touch. Please add to a list.

I have 2 other possible considerations - and if anyone is doing these please pipe up.

I have a wireless 3g card which can plug into a wifi box which can plug into the car. I think I might be able to use this configuration with the ipod touch for a navigation device. I discovered too that magellen makes something so I wouldn't even need the wifi hooked up and can just plug in the ipod.

My other thought is Skype Phone! I currently talk thru the computer but this might be easier to walk about the house on a phone call.

I'm quite sure someone about now is going "duh Jill, use it to listen to music" - but I have a nice little shuffle I use for that on my walks (the little one gig one when it first came out).

What creative things are you all doing with your ipod touch devices?

PS: I don't think I want/need an ipad. I have a laptop that covers that and was thinking something small and inconspicuous in my purse would be better suited for just running around.

PPS: I don't think I want/need an iphone. I like my old cell phone that I use now (it's ancient) which has a reasonable bill and I like my phone to just be a phone.
