Strange Dreams

Right now I've been kind of sick for awhile...taking medication I've never heard of.
So the other night, I tried to eat late and took some before bed...

I dreamed I was the Commander of some special forces in Mindanao...now I know where that comes from, because I had a friend who was in special ops (since retired) and did work with the Philippine troops chasing A.S. thru the jungle over there.


Anyway, I got word that Congress had cut the military budget and were sending me a new force of midgets....the word I got was that they (congress) thought that they would take half the food, half the clothes, smaller parachutes...etc...and the enemy would constantly miss by firing over their heads.

It turned out they were great troops and could drink me under the table to boot.
Which of course, impressed me, no end.

So we're sitting around in the jungle trying to think up a name for our new force..Billy Barty Brigade...etc...

When all of a sudden we were hit with a real bad crossfire....of course they did well...but that was when I woke up in a sweat....

Hey.. I couldn't make this stuff up...well, I guess I did in a way.


Ever had a strange dream? medicated or otherwise?

I hardly ever remember my dreams..

    I've had strange dreams before, but it has been a long while for me. I'm betting being sick and the new medication had some kind of effect. Maybe you were not sleeping as deeply as usual and just happened to wake up at the end of that dream, so it remained very vivid.

    Sounds like a very interesting dream you had.

    Actually, it might have been the cheesy bread.... or....a new found fear of midgets.



    But.... they were such good troops....

      Barstow?...I used to go thru there on my way to Vegas, from L.A.

      Now that would be a nightmare..

      When I die and someone welcomes me to Barstow...I'll know which way I went..

        Everyone that's ever driven from S Cal to LV knows Barstow. It's the only reason to know Barstow. LOL

        And I'll bet a coke you stopped at the Dairy Queen in Barstow to get gas and something quick to eat???

      About an hour after I woke up...I thought wow. that would be a funny show or movie.

      Guess that's what growing up in L.A. will do for ya..lol.

      I wouldn't be surprised to see this on the next fall schedule....or a movie.
      I do realize that...
      It could be pretty cool, if done right, not to mention midget employment....


      I wasn't kidding, I really did have that dream, Ive been trying to replicate the circumstances since I woke up...

      I won't even get into the amount of time spent trying to get back into the one about Jennifer Lopez and me....:p

    Wow, that's some strange dream indeed.

    Now, I know there's a correlation between medical drugs and dreams; I've had some of the craziest dreams while taking Lunesta, the sleep medication.

    However, I'm not sure if there's a relationship between eating late at night and dreams. Though, I remember my mom telling me not to eat late at night because doing so caused tummy aches and bad dreams. Of course, that hasn't stopped me from eating late at night

    Also don't know if there's a connection between being sick or having a fever and dreams. Although whenever I have a fever - I almost always have some crazy dream.

    Hmmm... wish I had some sort of interpretation for you - like Joseph had for Pharaoh in the Bible.

    Sigh... at least your dream seems to have had a happy ending - somewhat. Now, if you all of a sudden start seeing little people wherever you go... then duck and watch out for crossfire! LOL!

    I've had lots of absolutely bizarre dreams.

    I'm not sure what medication would do to dreams - something, I'm sure. The oddest one I've had in recent times, though, was when I had a hella fever going. I had an abscessed tooth during a holiday and had to wait a few days for the dentist to get back in. Talk about bizarre dreams. They were pretty vivid, too - enough to make me a bit nervous after waking up and for awhile afterward. I got my fever down and that part went away though and I was able to put it all in the perspective that I had been dreaming.

    Hey, overdose on 5htp(5 hydroxy-tryptophan), and you can get some wild dreams! It is a metabolite of tryptophan, which is a necessary amino acid. and overdose is a strong word because I don't believe it is actually poisonous. It is derived from a seed, and so it isn't subject to the problems or bans that some tryptophan is.

    I started taking it at one point, and my mother did when she found out. She gave up because the dreams scared her.

      Kind of funny you mention tryptophan, Steve.
      Because it was after eating about three days worth of turkey.

      Might have a winner here.

      I have a little turkey left...maybe I could dry it out and smoke it.

    I have weird dreams all the time that I atribute to the meds,but nothing compares to yours Jim.
