need interview help!!

Hey...I figured this would be the best place to ask. I'm have an interview next week with this marketing company, but I'm really nervous. Got any advice? \ I've been looking online for interview help, which I think I found this one article that seems legit http://www.instituteforcoaching.com/2011/11/how-to-be-prepared-for-an-interview/...what do you think? I NEED HELP.

      They're going to do a background check on you--you do a background check on the guy doing the interview.

      Find out their hobbies, find out what they like to do, if they have kids, whatever. Weirdly enough, that can help out a lot.

      I had an interview with a guy that was named "Dwane". That's all I knew about him initially. I called the company, checked for a last name and got online and looked him up. Even though I didn't find a ton of info, I did find that he had 3 kids, lived in a smallish house, and had been high ranking in the local church and local politics before getting involved in this company as a mentor.

      While I didn't say any of that to him in the interview, it really did help in talking to him, 'cause I understand the type of mentality that goes into being high ranking in the local church. I could connect with him better.

    Everyone is nervous on interviews, it is absolutely normal. Be positive and confident, never be negtive! During the job interview try to relax and stay as calm possible.

    I agree with the PPs advice. Be confident, relax, and be prepared.

    I'd add too - research the company you are applying for, know what they do, who they are, size of the company, anything you can dig up.

    Also, practice questions you can expect to be asked. Be prepared with scenarios you can use to show skills that the potential employer will be looking for (when have you taken initiative in the past? describe a time when you worked as a part of team - what were the results?).

    Hi make sure you know the ins and outs of the company not the individual as the company remains but people move on to other jobs also know your product.You will be asked what you know about the company/product if you can give him 5 mins of information about this he will be flabbergasted and shocked and by then you have the upper hand,be confident and know your subject,look relaxed and smile.

    When answering questions think about what the employer wants out of an employee.

    I've done a lot of hiring over the years and it never ceases to amaze me how many interviewees tell me what a jerk all of their former bosses were, what hours and days of the week they aren't willing to work and how they expect to get a promotion after a couple of months.

    Think - "Would I hire myself with these answers?"

    Absolutely agree that you should research the company and what they're about, and whoever's interviewing you if you can. Being positive is excellent as well.

    Two things I would suggest is when they ask you if you have any questions, ask them what they like about their company. Why do they like working there? That gets them talking about themselves and you learn more about the company. And, this is an important part, tell them that you want the job. Tell them you would like to work there and why. That seems to work well.
