Living in a country with all those 4 seasons

I live in Romania.

Here, we have all the 4 seasons with all their rights. To be honest, as time passes, my tolerance to winter is decreasing. Winters can go as low as -20 degrees Celsius and summers as high as 30 in my area. I mean, that's 50 degrees difference!!!

How are others coping with this? I've just had enough of cold.
My dream country would be Italy for now, but there are too many Romanians out there ...

There ARE worst places in the US! -4F->86F! So an F scale range of 90 degrees. today t is 32-48 in my area. Death valley is actually better today. wow, even tampa florida only had an 18degree spread. This IS daily spread though!

MY area? Lowest is -24F Highest temperature is 99F. A range of 123!
AVG Range this year? 17-83F (highest july, lowest january)

YOUR area? UNKNOWN RECORDS weather.com just ha spotty records about your area.
AVG Range this year Arad, Romainia 23-82(highest july, lowest january)

BTW Tampa florida? Lowest -18F Highest 99F. A range of 117!
AVG Range THIS year? 52-90 (highest jun-aug, lowest january)

Does that make you feel better? BTW realize that 32F is the freezing point of water, or 0C.

I don't like the hot days, but I could still lie in such a climate. Luckily, MANY have trouble there because of humidity, etc... so everyone just gets home, or to some place where it is cooler or the humidity is lower, or there is a draft.

I am in Australia and we work in Celsius. We can range from -6 to 45 and this week we are in the 35-39 range which is HOT, especially if you get a few days in a row like what we are having right now.

I prefer the cold because you can always keep warm but in the heat there's only so much you can take off.

Temperatures in my area (on average per season) range from about 10 degrees
to 90 degree F. It can hit 100 and go as low as 0 or even slightly below in the
      winter.

I have zero tolerance for winter these days but fortunately I spend most of
the time indoors so I don't notice the cold much. In the summer, I try to get
out as much as I can.

When I fully retire (hopefully this year if I can find a buyer for my business)
I plan on going out a lot in the summer.

Winter isn't even for the birds as even they fly south when it hits.

I spent a couple of years in the tropics and I have to say I missed the change of season. And Christmas was NOT the same (as what I was used to)

Coping with the cold? Layers. I go running even when it's about 25 F. You warm up pretty quick. In fact, I think I'll start the year off with a 4 miler...

I like the change of seasons. I can bear winter when I live in a resort area where people are active and things are going on all year round, but don't like it where I am now so much. Nothing going on here.

Today is in the high 30s somewhere. I am about to put on some longjohns and a thick pair of pants, a couple pairs of socks and warm foot gear, an angora sweater over a thick long sleeve t-shirt, gloves, hat, scarf, thick buckskin coat and take my dog for a stroll through the woods to the lake. I don't like the cold but still realize the need for exercise, sunshine, and fresh air.

Summers are ecstasy for me. I LOVE hot weather. But here in the west I sorely miss the beauty of the NE autumns.

If I had my choice, how I would deal with winters would be to take vacations to the southern warm areas frequently, maybe even have a place to live in the south for a few of the coldest northern months each year. With some work and luck, I might be able to achieve that one before too much longer.

Here I've experienced it as cold as -44F and as hot as 113F. Fortunately though our humidity remains low, which helps. Average summer temps though are probably 78-82 degrees, winter averages at probably 5-10 degrees.

However, the only month I have not experienced snow...July.

I enjoyed cold winters as a child because of sledding, ice skating, and making snow men. But as an adult, the snow and cold is just an uncomfortable inconvenience.

I didn't know warriors like to chat that much

Anyway, a little off topic (but hey, that's the purpose of this area anyway, right?) however still remotely related: I've heard that people like most the season in which they were born.

For me this is true. How about for you?

Not for me. I was born in the heat of summer (July), but autumn is my favorite season. Followed closely by spring. Call me Mr. Moderate

Winter has it's charms, however the novelty wears off for me quickly in the Midwest,
    particularly around February! Love Autumn!

Utah: the weather doesn't like to make up its mind.

Last year, it sorta kinda was sorta winter from about October all the way through to April. This year, it's sorta kinda autumn from about September through to now.

Yesterday I was walking around in sandals and a windbreaker... and it was 'eh, kinda chilly'.

The frustrating bit is how it just doesn't ever want to be any one season.

A couple years ago it was t-shirt and sandals all the way up until about noon when it started snowing, and by 4:00 pm we had a foot of snow... > <

Being in Ye Olde England I'm split, I do love the sunshine and do feel the cold, but at the same time I do like experiencing the transitions of the different seasons, instead of one long continuous climate all year round.

I think lots of european countries now have lots of romanians, since many of them moved out of that country, specially the romanian gypsy. I even saw a video of them fighting for territory in the scandinavian countries. Then they go back to your country and build those massive castles....

Anyway...you should explore latin america...panama, costa rica....summer all year long! That gets sickening too. And since you're romanian, you probably already speak or understand spanish. Easy move.

A lot of European countries have gypsies that are (unfortunately) given Romanian citizenship. However they are not the same as the people of Romanian nationality, but hey, they call themselves Romanians (and they have this right) so that's why our beloved (I'm ironic here!) country is seen in this way.

You mean those types of castles? (caution: turn your speakers down)

I've once saw an interview with a gypsy who had central heating on the exterior of the house. When asked why, he replied "so I can make my enemies envy"
