If anyone's bored, I found a few poems I wrote a few months back and published with poetry.com as an outlet.

It's interesting to read how you felt several months ago.

Misspelled the word *eternity* in one of them.

Anyway, thought it may be just "outside of the box, tomb, etc" to give you a way to get some free virtual therapy. Lol.

If anybody wants to tell me how much they hated them, feel free as my feelings will grow back.

If it inspires you to share your own, then have at it.

Would love to read 'em and weep, laugh, scream or whatever works for ya.

      Hey Michelle,

      Here they are:

Will you forgive me? by Doug - Barger

Seems I forgot to add them in the op and never would have known unless
      you told me.

      Thanks.

        I hated it! ...

        Just Kidding!

        Good poem Doug!

You should maybe move to the poem niche. (if there is one.)

          Hey Jose,

          Thanks man.

I would seriously consider it if wouldn't feel like adultery to sell poetry.

Don't think there's really a market for those anyway and do those kind more for expression as an outlet instead of any higher purpose.

Here's a haiku for you Jose:

          Jose can you see
by the new dawn's early light
          return to sender

Gee, Doug. I don't wanna know what you did to inspire that one.

I guess this is not the appropriate thread to sport my limericks, eh?

            BTW - nice tie.

                Hey very cool Karl!

                Nice expression too.

Thanks for sharing. Every now and then I got to shake myself out of a rut and sometimes going "old school" and just getting the pen and paper out and letting it flow does the sould good.

We must be long lost cousins and grandchildren of King David the psalmist.

Hey, that makes us grandchildren of King Solomon the richest man who ever lived too. Lol.

May you never lose your inspiration!

              Hey Sal,

              Thanks for replying.

It's interesting how that one was born. I was holding a grudge against someone who I thought was abusing their authority as a minister for monetary gain at the expense of hurting people who were genuinely hungry for God.

After a few weeks, the still small voice let me know right away that by holding bitterness against them in my heart I was grieving the same Holy Spirit that I was so sure they had defied.

It was funny, I thought I was holding them accountable by holding on to that grudge, but the only person it hurt was me because of the bitterness.

When I "released" them from my heart and forgave,

my own soul was set free too.

I know it doesn't make logical sense, but it's what happened.

So there you have it, the story behind that one.

There's a few others there too (5 at that link) I think that kind of have that same theme.

So now, whenever I'm tempted to pull the 'ole "label and dismiss" on someone or judge them, I take a few steps back and consider how investing a little mercy to someone who may not look like they deserve it may very well in fact mean that there will be some stored up on deposit in the heavenly bank for sometime in the future when I may need to draw from its reserve...like everyday! :p

              Doug

PS. Yes, by all means feel free to share your limericks. Why not let this be the "ot poem" thread. Lol. (I'm going to have to limit my use of emoticons soon.)

              PPS. Great Pic!

                LOL - why not:

                Cheap poetry:

                Haiku:

                Warmth in the darkness
                Your breath upon my shoulder
                Please just go away.

                Limerick:

There was a young man named Thor
He nailed his kids to the door
                He then stuck a knife
Through the heart of his wife
And said "Hope the Neighbors aren't sore.

                Cheap Hallmark Greeting:
                The Embittered Wife
                Your articulation brings no exhileration
                Your laughter brings no myrth
Tell me sweetheart, where'd you come from.
                It's certainly not earth
You say you're quite the handyman
In truth you're just a clutz
I got to tell you baby,
                You drove me freakin' nuts
You are like a vile rodent
                That poisons can not kill
I'm done keepin' it a secret
                You just make me ill
You brought me home a puppy
You brought me home a cat
                You really showed me baby,
                exactly where I'm at.
I'm a sucker for stupid helpless things
And you're a stupid helpless brat.
The dog is sleeping nice and sound
                The cat is doing well.
As far as what to do with you -
I wish you'd go to hell.
