Any Ron Paul Fans in Here?

I was thinking about starting an online talk show and
newspaper that would cater to Ron Paul fans and to
libertarians in general. The only thing holding me back,
of course, is that I'm not quite sure how to monetize
something like this. I was thinking about using both
websites to build a massive e-mail list, but... I'm not
sure there are many libertarian-related affiliate
products I could promote via e-mail. Your thoughts?

Yes I am. And I have two words for you to solve your problem.

    Cafe Press.

Well - actually that's only one word when you cram it together without spaces into a URL: cafepress.com

And DON'T forget book store affiliations.

Now go get us some publicity, dude.

With Ron Paul, I think you have to understand (and I think you do) who is core supporters are. Much of his support comes from the 18-34 years-old-crowd.

Obviously there are pockets of support that that are well outside of this demographic, but if you use that 18-34 year-old base (men and women), you've got gold here.

Why? First, they're obviously young, mostly educated (or on their way to getting there), technologically savvy, avid readers, etc.

Therefore, I don't think you'd be limited to promoting strictly "libertarian" items. They're young and may want an iPad -- why not, when in trouble, check what the Constitution says on your new iPad: click here for the best deal! Get what I'm saying?

I think if you came up with a couple of websites that is Ron Paul centric (and/or his views centric) then you could pretty much promote anything because this group is more likely to buy or participate in something where they know that they're helping a cause (even if it's your cause) or where their views are in lockstep with the website/forum that they are on.

So you might have something here -- but if you're going to strike, it would be best to do it soon while the bees are defending the hive so-to-speak. Once you get into the post-primary season and beyond the general election cycle, a lot of that support/interest is going to wane (as is true, unfortunately, with a younger demographic). But...

...as you've mentioned, if you create a list as well then that will always be there to farm later.

      But cool idea!

    I'm a Ron Paul fan.

But since we're not allowed to talk politics here, I will state that I am not a fan of Ron Paul as a politician, but as an obstetrician/gynecologist.

obviously a little political in nature, nobody here is at each others throats. There's no fighting. No hatred. No name calling
But the rule is there - so best to stay away from political discussions. May not be fighting (yet) in this thread - but political views are being presented.

I agree. Let's keep the conversation away from Ron Paul's politics and instead discuss his skills when it comes to delivering babies. BTW, I heard that Ron Paul delivered all of the Octomom's babies. That's impressive.

For one excellent example, just take a look at how Alex Jones is monetizing it by slanting Ron Paul's publicity in the news on his website "infowars". There are several thousand books on Amazon that will appeal wildly in this niche.

Considering that several interviews by Alex Jones such as "The Revolution is Coming" (recorded Jan 21, 2011) are also archived on Ron Paul's website, the possibilities for mining the gold in these diehard dedicated fans is almost as simple as taking candy from a baby.
