Why do some replies get displayed on Twitter & others don't?

Hello everyone,

I've been working on my Tweets, social profile, and social marketing in 2012. I've tweeted and posted replies to different Twitter users, including journalists, financial analysts, sports commentators, Internet marketers, online marketers, social media managers and consultants, etc., all in an effort to build my social profile and make connections.

What I've noticed is that some of my replies are displayed on other people's Twitter pages, while others are not. I presumed that it was because some of them don't follow me, and as a result, my replies are not shown on their pages. I know that they would have to click the second tab, @theirname, on their main Twitter page to see my replies.

However, I was checking out some of the journalists'/financial analysts' Twitter pages and the replies they've received to their tweets. Some of the replies they've received and that are displayed on their Twitter pages are by people who the journalists/financial analysts are NOT following. Yet, those people's replies are being displayed on the journalists'/financial analysts' pages, while mine aren't, even though neither of us are being followed by the journalists/financial analysts.

For the record:

1. I am not blocked by Twitter on these journalists'/financial analysts' pages (Twitter would display that I was if I were, and I'd like to think I don't do anything to be blocked; I haven't been blocked before, and I do my best to not make myself a pest, LOL).

2. I logged out of my account and checked the journalists'/financial analysts' pages again to see if my replies would be displayed when I logged out, but that was not the case. They weren't there either way.

3. I also am not following the people who made replies that were displayed on these journalists'/financial analysts' pages, yet I can see them.

Just to make sure, a reply is supposed to go after the @name isn't it? For instance, @friend Congratulations on the Giants' win in the Super Bowl.

Therefore, it's a bit of a brainteaser for me. I think I checked all of my settings on my end and everything, I think, is in order from what I can tell from my online research. Is it that the journalist/financial analyst is using some type of application that is filtering out certain replies and not others, even though the journalist/financial analyst is following neither the poster whose replies are displayed nor me?

I'd appreciate any information and/or revelation you can provide regarding this - thank you. It's just a mystery to me why their replies are displaying on the page, but mine aren't, even though neither of us are being followed. I'd just like to know what is causing it so that I have more knowledge of Twitter, can make better tweets, and can gain more meaningful connections. Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated - thanks!

Please take care, keep up the great work, and have a good day!
