I can appreciate the beach, however, I have indeed spent a lot of time traveling and to be honest it gets boring very quickly. I prefer a bustling community near the ocean. I like my night life!

This. I wouldn't discriminate from the areas not near the ocean as I make my travels; I'm sure landlocked areas also have some nice nightlife.

I would go to the Phillipines, alone cause I'm single. The great thing for me about the Phillipines is that it's cheap, it has quite some poker community and casino's for some extra entertainment. The only thing I worry about is stable internet cause I want to continue doing IM work obvious.

I would prefer the beach as well and get myself these monitor/tv sunglasses so I dont have the sun shining on my laptop screen.

I also love the Philippines. Been there two times..The women are spectacular, the people are very kind, and the country is beautiful. I also plan to live there one day..Not sure for how long, but at least a year.

It's fresh, no chemicals which means I am skinny and feel healthy.

I went to the doctor for a check up a few days ago and my blood pressure is 110 over 80, best it's ever been. It was dangerously high back when I lived in the states running my business.

No need for a car. I walk almost everywhere, and if I need a taxi it's 2-4 dollars for most places in the city.

Did I mention the women are amazing?

  I've seen some real life story on National Geography for a couple that end up in jail....they got kidnapped and had to smuggle drugs.... i am sure that didn't happened to you

You've piqued my interest! What's the internet like over there? If you want to take this off thread, PM? Honestly, I'm NOT in the States but in Canada, and its getting old REAL quick. Where you're at sounds like a slice of heaven and I would like to know more.

Internet is fine..4 megs per second in most places. More than I ever need to run my Internet business. I cannot highly recommend enough this country. I have traveled all over South America, and it's VERY common for people to stop here and want to live. In the fact, the slogan for the country is "The Only Risk Is Wanting To Stay" playing on the idea that most people think Colombia is dangerous. It's no more dangerous than any US city you have ever been. In fact, I feel safer here than in many places I've been in the US.

The people are incredibly welcoming, and the culture actually has a somewhat American feel. They love American products

The economy is booming, the Colombian peso is getting stronger and stronger every year, and it was recently listed by the World Bank as the fifth safest place to do business in the world.

COLOMBIA FREAKIN ROCKS!

Come for a visit and I'd be happy to show you around.

Also I should mention what you can get with your money..

A penthouse loft in the nicest area of town might cost you $1500 dollars a month..Were talking NICE. Want a simple room to rent in someones house, sort of like culture emersion to learn the language..EASILY find a room for $150 to $200 dollars per month, utilities (yes even Internet) included.

Go to a typical bar and pay about 1.50 for a beer (can be higher depends where you go)

$5 cover charge normally for the coolest night clubs

Tons of foriegners moving here from all over the world.

Paragliding, kitesurfing, deep sea diving cheeeeap.

And did I mention the women were amazing?

LOL, right where I am this moment. For me, it is the best place on Earth!

And, it would be nice to be able to spend time on our Okanogan Highlands property (91 acres south facing slopes). It is 30 miles away from the first small town and would require a satellite link for the Internet. The most quiet and peaceful place on Earth I have EVER experienced! Ahhhhhh.

Hands down the beach!! My choice would be central or south America. Or, I would even settle for southern Florida. It's in the single digit temps in Michigan right now so you have no idea how good that sounds!

As far as people with me, I have a wonderful hubby and young kids. I would want them with me but I would want them to magically disappear and not interrupt during work time (this is a fantasy, right??). But then I'd want them around for their support during non work times.

Now that would be the life!

Oh, the places we could go...

Well, Bali is pretty high up my list. I went there four times in 13 months for business and training a few years ago, and it's heavenly. The people are so gracious, and the mood is so serene. Broadband strength wasn't great, but good enough.

Australia and New Zealand are also high on the list. Can-do attitude, great outdoors and awesome food & wine.

And finally, San Francisco and Seattle, for the occasional week. They also have great energy and food - but the States in general are too hectic and noisy for my me (though I do have some really fantastic friends there).
