That looks like promotional hype to me. Fodder for the sensational news mags.

Mr. Bean, on the other hand ... He truly DID appear out of nowhere! Just watch the opening credits at the beginning of every episode: there's your proof right there!

I totally agree. It's been a long time since Chaplin died. It amazes me how many years after a celebrity dies and people continue to keep digging up dirt.

What's next? Michael Jackson liked Monkeys?

  • It does sound like another book hype...

If not - what's the point? The FBI doctored another file in the "quest to rid the world of commies"?...if they were going to investigate anyone...it should have been that xenophobic cross-dressing closet queen they called "Boss" - J. Edgar
(no offense intended to other cross-dressing closet queens in general )

I always liked this story: (as the story goes) Before "Hollywood" got it's name, some silent movie makers like Charlie Chaplin and Bronco Billy set up camp in a little town called Niles, Ca. in the East Bay above Fremont...this is where it all started...("The Tramp" was filmed in Niles)
As a lot of places like Niles did back in the heyday of silents, it held Charlie Chaplin look-alike contests - Chaplin on a lark, entered one of the the contests - and he came in 3rd place!...

If this is their evidence Charlie was a commie...maybe we need more of them -

But - This is proof he might just be an extraterrestrial!

He was an alien, too? Seems to be a lot of them around these days....according to a few websites I've seen. Shame they don't have longer lifespans, eh? You'd think they'd have sussed that one by now.

Didn't you know that aliens don't die. They simply revert to their lizard forms and continue working for the Illuminati's agenda to bring about a New World Order.

I read that on the internet which constitutes irrefutable proof.

So just relax, smile for the cctv cameras and line up for your flouride vaccination.

It actually said his mother was a carnival worker or something and he was born in a car while she was traveling. He got a note from a relative. So no he wasn't an alien :p

"Carnival worker," right. That would be an excellent cover story for a spy or an extraterrestrial. Born in a "car," meaning spaceship no doubt. And "or something," as in extraterrestrial?

The guy lived through the great depression and a horrible war, i'd imagine many people were traveling around at that time, and that they didn't have the best record keeping system. Anyway the guy isn't a alien so not sure how you even came up with that. Reading his wikipedia entry he went through a lot as a kid and in his life.

Charlie Chaplin was the greatest actor, director, and comedian of all time. Why was he so good? The only viable explanation is that he was an extraterrestrial.

I saw one of his videos and read he did a lot of no talking acting. I'm not saying he's not funny or enjoyable, but I think a lot of his success was timing, he made people laugh when they needed it the most(through the wars etc...) so obviously it means more. But if you think he's the greatest, comedian, awesome, maybe he was IDK.

Charlie Chaplin was the single most influential, innovative, and important filmmaker in history. Most films of his era of after that paled by comparison. Too many nowadays try to compensate for a bad foundation by special effect gimmickry and auto-tuned "music" to hide the flaws of the film. His movies are timeless and are as applicable, if not more so, nowadays as they were when they were made. How was Charlie Chaplin so prescient? He must have been an extraterrestrial.

  • I'm not sure how many may know it, but Chaplin also wrote the music of this popular song, made famous by Nat King Cole...

    artist Nat King Cole
words by John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons
    music by Charles Chaplin
"Smile" is a song based on an instrumental theme used in the soundtrack for the 1936 Charlie Chaplin movie "Modern Times". Chaplin composed the music, while John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons added the lyrics and title in 1954 inspired by the movie. In the lyrics, the singer is telling the listener to cheer up and that there is always a bright tomorrow, just as long as they smile.
The song was originally sung by Nat King Cole, charted in 1954. It was also covered by Cole's daughter, Natalie, on her 1991 album.

    lyrics:
Smile though your heart is aching
    Smile even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
    Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through for you

Light up your face with gladness
    Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
    If you just smile

That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
    If you just smile
