No. It just means they paid the $37 to get in there - that's what, like £17? Someone's knowledge and attitude is what builds trust. The places they find themselves doesn't.

I agree. It just means someone bought a membership there. It has nothing to do with how trustworthy they may be. There are plenty of other factors than the ability to spend money that go into trust.

I certainly wouldn't afford a War Room member more trust than anyone else.

As previously metioned all it says to me is that they invested $37

    Probably not.

But I'd trust them more than someone who evidently hadn't paid to join, yet cynically incorporated the Warrior colors in their avatar and appropriated the Warrior name as an integral part of their own site's URL.

    Just as an example.

Trust takes time especially on forums. Being a war room member doesn't mean anything. Except that the person made a good choice.

Avatars don't really mean much either. It is the time and thought put into post that builds trust in my view. The longer someone has been around and the more valuable their posts the more value and trust I put in them.

You know what it means if you are a War Room member?

It means you paid $37 to get that title.

    Elite? Hardly.

    Mean you're trustworthy? Nope.

Pretty simple. All it means is you paid some money, and that's it. Nothing more.

Someone's trustworthiness on here has exactly nothing to do with them being a War Room member or not.

If you trust them it better be for other reasons, like you like their posts, you've bought their products and were treated well, etc.

I disagree with most people and believe it DOES mean something. Think about it. Although it is only a small amount of money it is still a financial commitment in itself. Someone who was here with the intention of scamming people is not going to be as likely to fork out $37 to do it. People who come here and spam and create numerous accounts are also not going to be willing to pay $37 for each and every account.

Does it mean SOMETHING? Yes. Does it mean you can trust that person. Hell no. But just remember that every person on this forum has the ability to turn into a scam artist tomorrow, even someone who has been posting here for years and years and has thousands of posts. But we use certain bits of information to determine whether or not we think a Warrior is trustworthy. A War Room membership is just one little step in the right direction.

I disagree with that point. I would never turn into a “scammer” and I'm sure many other people I know wouldn't either.

However, talking about people in general, maybe there’s some truth to that.

The possibility is there, that's all I am saying. That type of scenario (good cop turned bad cop) has played out many times in real life so it would be naive to think it can't happen on a forum like this.

          • I'm still pretty new here and I can tell you I look at the number of posts and times someone's been thanked. I also think a photo helps.

Now I have to choose a photo and figure out how to get 'thanked'.

I tend to agree with this point of view WillR - I don't know about trust, but the membership does mean that they have a bit of "skin in the game" and may be a higher quality contributing member to the Forums - but, I would not use this membership as the sole factor when it comes to determining whether or not to do business with them...

Nope. Trust is something that is earned over time and paying $37 to have that under your name is something anyone can do. All it means to me is that they paid that fee and now have access to the War Room.

No I don't think it does. For me trust has to be built and just because somebody has a title doesn't always mean they can be trusted. Someone who gives valuable content & is prepared to help others out freely is more trustworthy in my eyes

I guess WillR makes a good point, but I think like he says, it should just be one bit you look at, as it indicates commitment.

But obviously, it's just one tiny part of the whole picture.

I think the person who constantly aims to give valuable info is trustworthy. In fact, I tend to remember the names of the people who consistently offer value in their posts.

If I see a particular thread started around a certain subject - I tend to look for the people that gave value in a previous post on that subject.

For instance, their is always a new thread started about article marketing almost on a daily basis. If I open the thread, there is always about 5 or 6 names I look for, because I have gained their trust in the past and I know their opinions will be loaded with tons of value.

To be honest - I don't even notice if someone is in the War Room at first because my attention is primarily what was said in the post.

It is a factor that some people look into. However, it is certainly not the most important factor affecting one's reputation. Post count, thanked posts, value they provided, avatar and some other factors provide a much clearer sense of what the user is like, and therefore builds trust.

    NO NO NO!!

Just being a War Room Member isn't some sort of TRUST SEAL!

If I had to trust someone then I would check
    • The Real Name
    • His Posts
    • How many thanks he has received
    • If real name then a small background check
    • What is he promoting in his SIG
    • and some more factors

PS: War Room member just makes me feel that this guy has ABILITY to BUY

Not really "trust", but I guess I take them a little more seriously. What it means is that they have been willing to invest a little money on their IM, whereas I guess you get some guys on here who refuse to spend a cent.

I'm not saying spending money on the War Room will make you successful, but I just find that there are 2 kinds of Warriors. The ones who refuse to spend a single cent on eduction, and the ones who are happy to invest a little.

    Just my take on it.

I think as a member you should look for what they have done for the commuity on the forum and how they helped others , there are some type of people would pay for a WR membership if they could sell a useless WSO and make a buck happens all the time , also just because someone has been posting on every thread does not make them the expert only on the content they provide, help, or any other service to help others on here...

It shows me that they are willing to invest money in to their business. Which inturn shows me they have a slight level of commitment. Whether or not they are just throwing money about is something entirely different.

Doesn't really dwell on trust issues in my head.

I usually only trust people once I get to know them.

I don't think of it in terms of trust. Rather, I assume the membership gives
something of value for the money. Naturally, it doesn't hurt either.
Surely the number of threads/posts etc. are more impressive in the
    trust building dept.

Not at all, just because someone can afford $37 does not make them trustworthy, you would be far better looking at their post count and seeing how many times they had been thanked etc, this gives you a better indication of weather someone is here on the forum to add value or not

Yes but I also check out the number of posts they have and all that jazz. You can't base it off of one title. You have to look at them from multiple angles and the best thing is to see how many people they've helped if you can.

There are a TON of ways to "prove" you are respectable and honest on the internet! The warroom membership is one of the easiest and cheapest, so why should IT be held in higher regard? As for the others? They have already been proven to not be worth the paper they are writen on. YEAH, I KNOW! Computer screens don't use paper! THAT is kind of the point.
