Do you see running business as a career or a means? Does business really change your life in a positive direction? What motivates you to do business?

In most cases, no, since the majority of businesses fail. The ones who succeed are usually doing something they really like to do. For example, a woman who loved making cakes and other desserts but produced more than her family and friends could eat, found great success in opening a pastry and dessert eatery.

When you spend most time of all your life in doing business, the business is becoming your life. When you do business, most of the time you deal with the products/services and business associates. When you are old, you look back, you contribute the majority of your adulthood to your business, so you can't separate business from your life, business is actually becoming the main part of your life. Do you really like to deal with them and associate yourself with them or doing business is just a way for you to achieve financial freedom which means that you are trying to get yourself out of the business as soon as the business generates enough money for you or as you turn the business into a money machine? If money is not a problem for you, what would you do? Would you do something else? Do you still like to do business? If you really like to do business, why do you like it? What rewards besides money do you get from doing business? Is doing business a means for you to achieve financial freedom or it is a career you choose to spend your life?

The best thing about being an entrepreneur is that you are the boss of your own company. The downside is that you can only take a breather from your chosen profession if you have caught a big break.

Speaking from my own life experience, yes, I saw owning my own business as a career. I was already making really good money and great benefits in my job but wanted to move on.

What motivated me was a desire all my life to own my own business one day.

I worked harder and more hours for my own business than I ever worked for anyone else because I wanted to succeed. I wanted to reach financial and time freedom and be able to "retire" to a great lifestyle with no money worries.

Every small business owner that I've ever known is extremely busier than their employees even if it may not look that way to the employees, themselves.

The small business owner never stops and has to always be handling every situation in every area and has all the financial stress and strain.

This is by no means a put down of great employees because it is a synergy. Companies need good employees as much as the need good leadership, direction and financial support.

But in the end, everything rests with the owner.

Most business people work very long hours and do not have a balanced lifestyle. There's a lot of hungry, poor people in the world who would just love to cream in on your success. It's a dog eat dog world. It's a consistent battle to keep all the wheels turning, good luck is all I'm saying. If you don't like long hours and often working for nothing due to something be a total waste of time, I wouldn't bother.

  • I think it is the perfect match to become successful and rewarded at something you love to do...

Most of the really successful people say "it's not about the money", but we all know for a time it is...but after a certain level of success, it's really not about the money any more...it's the game. Some do it for power...some do it for pleasure.

And...you don't have a Boss looking over your shoulder all the time...unless you're looking back - and not looking forward -
