Over the years other cemeteries have been targeted different war dead nationals,
it really shows the madness going on in the mind of these people

      very true Yukon...it`s not the major religion member organizations but for a minority of extremists causing distress, etc.

      They are fighting because they were told to by someone in power and they are brainwashed to believe in the hate. So much that they will waste their lives digging up corpses. Take gov and religion out of the picture and a very few people would ever dream of acting like this.

    I agree with Sal about the influence of government and religion. I think government brainwashing and religious fanaticism drive people to do some pretty strange things. Rational people are much less likely to be caught up in the type of emotion that prompts them to disrespect or cause harm to other people.

      governments as a whole I agree brainwash the masses either subliminally or coercively.
      Religion of all denominations wave a flag of peace outwardly and do not condone violence. ( unless a country goes to war)
      Northern Ireland and the middle East is a prime example of crimes in the name of religion

        Small minority, like governments who start wars or those that just want to usurp that government's powers - and have to make the populations hate a population enough to be able to kill them? Small minority like those who will kill someone just because of their color or sexual orientation? Small minority like those that will slaughter a woman for just about anything they want to kill her for?

        All these attitudes are brought about via governments and religion. Desecrating the dead is usually an act of revenge or just a show of pure hatred. Where does hate that strong come from? If you are going to answer "small number of extremists" -- remember (if you are old enough) that many US soldiers cut the ears off of vietnamies enemies after killing them. When a government, religious leader, rebel group, etc wants its people to go kill others, they have to make them feel that the targets are low enough to not deserve to live or it would not be possible for them to be able to kill them. Once someone feels that much disgust for another that they can kill them, it's not much of a jump from there to disrespect the corpse or make a display of contempt to insult the others of their kind.

          I do know what you mean in the bigger picture of things, it`s governments who have shown the way and religion with the hatred and control of the masses, or the dominance over other vanquished nations in the past. Also people dont really realise the form of mistisicsm.
          Many if not all of the world's great religions have arisen around the teachings of mystics (including Buddha, Jesus, Lao Tze, and Krishna); and most religious traditions . All this of course has clouded and confused and driven down the spirit of the common man. for the purpose of the state control of the masses.

          But you would not see say the arch bishop of Canterbury decimating a grave of a muslim. this live and let live between the religions should and does exist on the whole.
          I may have wavered off the point a bit, but it is my theory on religion and governments good and bad points.
          Example? This moment of time i would prefer to live in USA or UK, as opposed to say Iran or China freedom to a certain extent,

          You do to your credit know the score on this Sal....We are all expendable when push comes to shove.
