Positive thinking is defined by Remez Sasson as a mental attitude that admits into the mind thoughts, words and images that are conductive to growth, expansion and success.

He refers to it as a mental attitude that expects good and favorable results. A positive mind anticipates happiness, joy, health and a successful outcome of every situation and action. Whatever the mind expects, it finds.

Yep, sounds about right to me. What bugs me though is that people have this idea that thinking positively requires denial of anything going on that isn't right or good. If you speak of it, they turn their heads and don't want to hear it because it will "bring them down". That's not the way it is. To think positively, you have to recognize situations for what they are - even if they are catastrophic. That is the only way you can deal with anything realistically and push for a positive outcome.

Everything happens for a reason - positive thinkers see the situation for what it is and have faith that their actions can make a difference, an improvement, and they take moves to bring those about into reality. They don't stick their heads in the sand and hide from the truth.

Hit the nail on the head.

People who think that a positive mental attitude is just a fancy phrase for 'ignoring bad situations' are more than likely just going to end up in more trouble and bother than before they adopted this new attitude. All people need is a bit of faith and confidence in their own actions and themself to make a difference. 'Believing is half the battle', as they say.

    Allow me to illustrate:

    Crisis? WHAT Crisis?
Is he oblivious to the problem, or just thinking positively?
