Why does everyone want an IPad?

It is amazing how the 99% complain about being poor, but yet they line up to buy the new IPad. What does this IPad do that the old one doesn't? New Icons? Who cares.

    It makes you feel like you have higher status and now you feel special because you have something to show off.

    Just like when you got Stretch Armstrong as a kid when it first came out.

    The problem is you're the only one who thinks you're cool. Ha

      Well when your a kid you don't know any better. These are adults who should know better. What's the point of showing off something that everyone else is getting? They'll put it up on eBay within a month.

        That's logical and makes sense.

        But emotions drive people. Adults are nothing more than children being driven by their emotions, I think at least.

    I think the most impressive new feature is the screen resolution of 2048 x 1536. But it probably won't DO anything that previous models couldn't do. It will just look better doing them.

    Apple has done an incredible job at marketing their brand.
    Even the boxes for apple products are usually kept by everyone because of how aesthetic pleasing they are.

    iPads are great and as a wildly successful product now in its third generation I can't see it becoming a fad that is dead in a couple years.

    That being said, it is certainly not going to be a money-maker for everyone. It doesn't replace a development machine for example.

    And there is always the Apple tax:rolleyes:

    Apple's marketing is incredible.

    I have an iPad 2 but I thought I needed the new iPad. Needless to say, apart from the higher resolution screen, it's more of the same.
