  • Of the very very very few things I've refused to experience in my lifetime - and will continue to refuse to experience, it's bungee jumping. There is not a bat's chance in hell of ever making me believe it can be fun - even if you get me super drunk and drop drugs in my drink. My body will never allow my head to get that wired that I'd do that one.

    • I'm with you Sal!

As you know I have a fear of heights and I have nightmares of me falling from great heights occasionally.

Those are bad enough! Why would I want to live out my nightmares?

      Not for me, no thanks!

  • I always remember these guys from the old "You asked For It" show...
And the guy who gets the vine too long...
"I was lucky the ground was there to break my fall..."
Vanuatu Land Divers - Naghol / N'Gol - YouTubeSometimes I think they should have called that show, "Who Thought Of This?"

    • Someone in my family used to do safety checks on the winches in popular bungee spots around the UK. Blackpool etc and he confirmed the majority of them to be an accident waiting to happen.
  • Why don't blind people skydive?

Have you ever heard a german shepard scream at 10,000 feet?
  • #1. They don't want to.

#2. Only 2 things fall from the sky: Bird **** and assholes.
  • Am I the only one here who has bungy jumped?
I did it because I was afraid of heights. It must have taken me 10 minutes to finally go.I kept telling myself there were only two ways down, off the platform I wwas on and the stairs, and I'm not walking those stairs again.
As it was, when I went off the cord sprung up and popped me in the nose.I had a cut and bloodied nose after I was done, but at least I did it.
(PS: I won't do it again.)

    • Do you know how many rubber bands I have had snap on me?

As you can quite imagine, after being a medical secretary for years, the number is quite high. And those little rubber band snaps hurt.

There's no way I want to jump with a big rubber band for my safety.

      Uh uh! Ain't gonna happen!

I'll go on roller coaster rides to confront my fear of heights, lol!

  • I prefer roller coatser too Terra.Sadly my riding days are over.

    • Awww!

Well you're probably saving yourself from a back or neck injury any how.

      Terra
  • Ha! Its the triple bypass and the kidney transplant that has ended those days.I loved the neck snaps....lol.

  • I have tried bungee jump before. And dear I say it, it was not easy, or fun. I was Provoked by my friends to do it for the sake of my buddy's birthday.

"It will be fun" they say
"You'll be surprised on how thrilling it is" they say
    .......right.
    dang' it~!

After that "HAPPY" jump, I was drunk with my own adrenaline. I feel my adrenaline dripping off my nose. LOL *(just kidding)*

no more bungee jumping for me, thank you very much.
I prefer Roller coaster or Kiddy ride like carousel... ?

Whut?! did I just said that? LOL.

  • Read an altimeter? I skydived once - about the same reason as armedgrace bungee jumped. I wasn't reading ANYTHING on the way down. It was the worst experience of my life. I was too sick to even barf. Once I was on the ground I just laid there feeling the ground under me and waiting to see if I'd ruptured any veins or my heart (which I was afraid I accidentally might have gotten a bite of on the way down). I laid there so long that my friends got scared.

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER...will I do it again. NEVER.

    • In other words, someone sky diving around Denver would have splattered themselves 3700 feet earlier...

    • Hell no I didn't fall on my own! And I know there's altimeters - but I wasn't reading anything. I wasn't worried about learning to either - I knew before I went up I'd only want to do it once. I didn't even want to do it once. I'd even undo it to this day if I could. Nope. I wasn't reading anything.

I was busy wondering if I would feel it when my spirit got tossed out of my body. And I'm thinking the guy I was clipped on to probably has permanent fingernail damage somewhere. When my feet hit the ground I just let myself fall and stayed there. I don't even remember much about being in the air other than waiting to hit ground and wondering how soon it would be over either way. I opened my eyes for a split second once and closed them again and just kept telling myself "it's just for a few minutes....it's just a few minutes". It seemed like an hour.

That totally answers the freakin question.
  • that's a relief that someone in here have the same thought about giving these adrenaline-triggers.
