An editor is the one checking for flaws. It may be a video, audio, or articles depend on what kind of editor you are.

Well the real job of editor to know the activity of the articles on the news papers or online websites, basically editor guides the contributors or bloggers what to blog or what to print , it gives topics to the contributors.

I would say they read through articles,checking on the grammar,if its for a new paper they will want to ensure it will capture the reader and translate to sales
