The problem I see with it is I know very few people that could walk in with a check.
    Most need to finance.

Valid point. I sometimes finance if needed through an alternate source, like a credit union, at a lower rate, that can cut a check.

I'm not sure I'm following you, John...could you elaborate?
(do you mean by pitting dealer vs. dealer?)

There is a duplicate of this post, ie: you have posted the same thread twice.

No I meant that you had posted another thread with this title accidentally earlier, was kidding, but the sense of humor is off today, I dont blame you for not getting it. When two perceptive people dont get your humor in the same hour, its time to stop being funny for the day I guess. lol

Thanks, but I was the slow one...my connection has been slow today, and I didn't know it posted twice - i'm trying to delete it, but there is no place to cancel a thread...

( I was kind of hoping you had some cool 'underground' method :rolleyes

That's the first place I looked...??? You can delete a post, no problem - but there is no delete for a thread? Weird...

Thanks John. I feel good. Basically I've got some damage to my esophagus from excess stomach acid (from a lifetime of heartburn). They took a couple biopsies to make sure it isn't cancerous. I'm sure it will be fine.

  • Oh, well - I asked the MODs to cancel it, I can't see where I can do it...what do you guys think of this fellows car buying strategy, and wording?

It would probably be great if you're buying a 'standard' model...but when you start going into options...

I've actually walked on deals when they tried to change at signing...I don't like to get played by closers...

I think it's a great strategy. It's somewhat similar to how I sell advertising on one of my sites. When someone makes an inquiry, I tell them I'm not really that keen on adding any more advertising to my pages than I already have, but I add that I'm always willing to listen to offers. Then I tell them to make their best offer first because I won't negotiate, I'll either accept the offer or reject it so they can look elsewhere.

Some don't write back, but the ones who do typically make offers for more than I would have asked -- a lot more in some cases. The bigger the name the advertiser has, the more they'll typically offer. Of course, it's done through their ad agency, but we all know where the money comes from.
