UK Drivers queued at supermarket filling stations yesterday following the news oil tanker drivers had voted in favour of strike action in a dispute over pay and working conditions.

The government MP Gerry Maude made a mistake in advising people to store petrol in jerrycans at home to prepare for a possible strike by fuel tanker drivers, a transport minister has said.
this will be over the Easter period when people are expected to travel on holiday, etc.

Sales of petrol were up 45% on Tuesday and diesel was up 20%, in what appeared to be a sign of panic-buying by motorists, with the trend seeming to continue last night.

Peole have been panicked into creating shortages by the government....people are bad enough without doing this.
Greed, greed and greed on all fronts, typical of our society.
I would rather stay at home with an empty tank.

I despair over the human race sometimes ( most times correction)

First day of snow in the UK, bread is sold out at the supermarkets, LOL

I'm waiting for strikes and other unrest over gas here, too. We HAVE oil here. If they'd quit selling it overseas we could drive pretty cheaply. Not gonna happen, though because the guys at the top are getting too much money for keeping the rest of us strapped. Still waiting to see if people are going to try to get something done or if they've boiled in the pot long enough to be enured to their financial slaughter.

Yep, panic breads panic. I am going to go and get my normal amount of diesel tomorrow (well I might get a little more than normal).

I would love to say I would rather stay at home but if one of my dogs need the vet urgently (which has happened recently and his life was only saved because we where able to act quickly), or my family need to travel quickly, I like to know I have the option. But the truth is I hardly drive these days anyway.

      Agree with all of you.
reports of people waiting 1 hour in the queue at filling stations to top up a liter`s worth! ( 2 pints) Crazy.
Government MP advising people to take Jerry cans to fill up in the garages and the fire service stating later how stupid this advice was, well it`s happened.
