I'm not too much of a fan of HP but I love my printer / scanner (HP Deskjet 1050) and usually I uterrly detest printers and I don't particularly like HP as a brand having suffered the pain of one of their laptops.

Good to see it as second best on the chart!

I missed the chart where HP was second best.
HP printers USED to be the best but they are producing crap now,at least if you go for an inexpensive one, plus their tech support literally sucks.
I recently bought a new HP printer and it wouldn't install. It said it had but then when it came to print the test page it kept saying carriage jam, open door slide carriage and try again. Well after literally hours of doing that and uninstalling and reinstalling it, I called tech support ( A side note is in order here,I am a certified tech with a degree in Netowrking too). I exoplained the situation to the tech, explained I had literally spent over an hour following the direction on how to fix it,yet he made me do it all again. Several times. Then he finally declared it was broke. There is a "duh: moment for you. Anyway at that point he offered if I wanted to pack it up and ship it to them, me paying the postage of course, they would send me a "new" refurbished printer. I not so nicely told him he was stupid if I was going to take a refurb for a computer that was purchased new less than 12 hours ago!
I took it back to the store the next day and instead kept the one I had,and still use it now.
Of course my other problem is who to use instead. I actually tried Epson and the printer itself wasn't too bad except when you got ink you had to buy like 6 different cartridges at once. But the real issue with it was that I didn't use it for about a month and the nozzles dried and became clogged. Again,I contacted their support ( Epson's this time) and spoke to support and they were nice and sent me another printer. But I had two of the same model and when the same thing happened with the second one the tech person I reached that time basically said tuff luck charlie. SO I said I would never again buy a Epson.
Back to HP though, you are smart not to buy another laptop from them.
