ISP blocking websites.. What do I do? (DNS Server question)

Okay.. So, my ISP is DNS blocking certain websites (like the one that streams free cricket online).

The sites work with OpenDNS servers but each time I switch off my modem (or after every 12 hours), I have to login into my ISP account. And OpenDNS servers doesn't take me to the login page. So, I have to reset it back to obtain DNS servers automatically in the TCP/IP settings which blocks the site again.

Anyway around this problem?

Thank You,
Sumit.

  • Get a router. Configure it to use whatever DNS servers you want.

    Done.

    I use OpenDNS.

Inside your OpenDNS account you can setup pages to be allowed on your safe list.

Grab the ISP login domain URL & paste it into your OpenDNS safe list.

Clear your browser history/cache & try to navigate to the login page again, while running Open DNS.

    It should work.

    • Use DNSChecker by GRC to find alternative DNS servers. There are thousands out there. Try use one that is located in the country that is streaming the cricket!
