As a young woman walked by me, she asked her male companion in a baseball cap, "Does this yellow shirt match my jacket?" She stopped walking to let him check it out. The guy responded, "Uh, yes...it's like a yellow spring flower blooming out of the soil." Looking hurt, she angrily replied, "So you think my jacket looks like dirt?!"

Poor kid. He must've read the wrong manual.

You must never confuse the romantic guide with the compliment manual. It's like confusing a dessert recipe with an entree. You might get lucky but most of the time you'll just have a lot of cleaning to do.

Best life lesson I ever had taught to me:

With a woman you can be happy, or you can be right. Never both.

Trust me, many times the truth is better left unsaid :p.

Jeez guys. I'm female and the answer that chick gave would have pissed me off.

That kind of crap isn't in the gender genes anywhere - it's socialized.

Well, somehow, women VERY often act like that! Her jacket may have been brown or some such, and a MAN would think that was descriptive and perhaps a compliment in an artistic way to describe the flash of yellow popping out from her jacket that contrasts so.

BESIDES, dirt is NOT necessarily dirty. Ever plant a flowering plant in planting soil?

And sand may actually be CLEAN! Heat beachsand really hot, and it becomes GLASS!

Still, some women seem to TRY to find fault with EVERYTHING! They may go back to a misunderstanding that is LITERALLY DECADES old! I had to interpret statements that my mother said through a filter of collected statements to see how SHE viewed past events. Remembering things as they were was not enough. And that was BEFORE she had alzheimers. Of course, I had similar experiences with other females, and knew other men with similar experiences. They even show up on sitcoms. So I know that it is not ME! I don't know how women manage it, but MEN often end up walking on eggshells!

I certainly can't say ALL women are like that but some cultural, genetic, or hormonal thing DOES make it more likely. It is uncommon with males.
