can an online marketer and a project manager of a small team take the pmp exam certification, too?
or is it only suited for the "corporate" people?

There is NO requrement that you be corporate. As I recall, there IS a requirement that, if not met, you have to have corporate experience. Otherwise, NO PROBLEM.

    Pre-requisites to become eligible

Candidates must verify a high school diploma or an associates degree with 60 months of project management experience, or a bachelor's degree with 36 months of project management experience. In both cases candidates must also have 35 contact hours of project management education. The application for the exam and verification of education and experience are done online at the PMI website.

This is a pretty extensive procedure.
I did it myself about 4 years ago.

You have to take and pass the courses, which really wasn't all that bad, when I did it.. many online study resources are available.

You also have to document projects you've worked on.

    Here's the PMI Requirements

To apply for the PMP, you need to have either:

A four-year degree (bachelor’s or the global equivalent) and at least three years of project management experience, with 4,500 hours leading and directing projects and 35 hours of project management education.

    OR
A secondary diploma (high school or the global equivalent) with at least five years of project management experience, with 7,500 hours leading and directing projects and 35 hours of project management education.

If I recall correctly you need someone else to attest to your documented hours.

You honestly should be able to take a PMP cert. exam with your credentials as an infrastructure consultant. If you cannot sub your experience, try taking 35 hours of Project Management courses...I never managed a project before becoming certified, they approved my application based on my USDA PM course credits.
