People Often Say I Look Like......

Someone actually asked me what famous person did I look like a day or so ago.
No one has told me lately I look like anyone special, but when I was younger I was told several different people I look like. Of course, old-timers is setting in and I can't remember them all but one was definitely John Kay of Steppenwolf.

I alos just remembered that a few years back here on this forum someone said I looked like someone famous,but again,I can't remember the name of who it was.

Yep, I can see the John Kay reference, and if David Caruso had dark hair you'd look like brothers.

For me, it's always Jack Nicholson. You can't see it from the avatar I'm using right now, but we have the same receding hairline, his is just further along. We have the same facial shape too, but I wear a beard in the winter so you can't see that either. lol - I guess you'll just have to trust me on it.

@Rob, your avatar is too small for old farts like me to see very well, but from what I can tell you look like an ink blot. :p

Yep Defoe for Kim
In my much younger days when I still had hair, some folks said I looked like John Lennon. I never saw it tho.
Now a days people say I look like (insert scary image from nightmare here).

Dave, sorry but that isn't Dafoe!
I don't remember his name but he is on one of the CSI shows.
EDIT: Dave, that is David Caruso.

And Rob, you did hit it, when you mentioned Dafoe that made me remember that was who I was told I looked like.

And I would have to agree with John Kay, back in the day my hair was like his and I wore dark glasses a lot!

Have you ever met your Doppleganger?

For instance, I was standing in a line once, and this girl ahead of me turned around to look at the crowd - did a double-take on me - then tapped her boyfriend. he turned around, and smiled...and it was funny...we were like twin sons from different mothers!

It was actually kind of freaky...like an out of body experience, or a weird movie...:rolleyes:

It also happened when I worked at the Albany Country Club.
One of the refrigeration guys that was sent to repair a walk-in was my exact double

Not only that, but he had heard of my father and the next day brought in a two page write up on him in the Refrigeration newsletter.

Actually - I think you and Istvan Horvath (sorry if I spelled it wrong again Istvan) could pass for brothers....possibly twins. I'd have to see you standing together, but I know I mistook a pic of him for you once.

I've got one of those faces that everyone thinks they've seen somewhere before. So much so that I'm about the only woman in the US that a guy can walk up to and ask "haven't we met somewhere" and I don't take it as a pick-up line.

I've been told I look like Jane Fonda, Carol Burnette, Lil Tomlin (sp?), and Loretta Swit. Now if anyone can find even the remote resemblance in any of those women, I'm missing it. Those are just the famous ones. If you count everyone's mom, sister, cousin, and best friend that I've been told I look like I'm wondering if I'm not just a hologram that looks like different people to different people.

Yeah, there's not a lot of similarity in their looks. Without the advantage of having a picture of you to look at, from what I remember I can kind of see the Loretta Swit comparison.

No - actually, I am pretty much a dead ringer for Bill (William) Katt -
So much so, that I don't even have to take pictures of myself - I just use his :rolleyes: I could put his picture on my driver's license and nobody would know...if I don't show up for a family event, they just photoshop in a picture of him...

It started in High school, with my girlfriend Carrie - we were at our prom...and someone poured a bucket of blood on us - that made her mad - REALLY mad!! - I got teased forever about that...we even had the same hair!

Then, a little TV show came out in the 80's called "The Great American Hero" - and if I had $5 for every time someone...even standing on a street corner, would come up and say "Do you know who you look like?" Or even "Are you that guy on TV with the cape?" - I would probably have the island next to Branson's...(the theme song started playing in a Walgrens once, and a girl started chatting me up...I figured she must have gotten subliminal messages)

I thought it was all kind of silly, until one day I was walking down the street, and a bunch of little kids (4-6) started following me - One of the kids said: "Mister, do you fly?" I was wearing a shirt like pilots wear, with epaulets, so I thought she meant that, and when I turned around to respond...another kid said "where's your cape?" :confused: I resigned myself to the fact...
My girlfriend at the time wanted to make me a 'suit' for Halloween...but I wasn't for that at the time - thinking back - I should have let her...I could have had a side gig opening supermarkets and car dealerships :p

I was relatively safe until they started showing GAH again on TV land...

Thankfully, I don't get that so much anymore...now it's just little old ladies who come up to me in the grocery store and ask me if I'm the guy on Perry Mason!

I do look on the plus side though...at least everyone wasn't coming up to me and telling me I look like Boris Karloff!

edit: Geez, I just looked up a video of Katt, and though he looks a little older and has longer hair than I do...he has the same moustache! - I tell ya, there's no escaping this guy! :rolleyes:

My senior year of high school when I let my hair grow out people also said I looked like Tom Welling. I was fine with that one lol, because I got the nickname Clark Kent for the next three years.

once someone came up to me at a festival and said 'are you Guy Garvey'? I politely replied 'no but I've had that before' they then proceeded to tell me my band 'are F!*$ING rubbish' and that we 'should rehearse more'. As I walked away they threw a can at my head. nice

I used to work with 2 guys from Pakistan - one looked like Saddam Hussein, (only younger) and the other looked like Osama Bin Laden (only a few inches shorter) I can't imagine what they go through!!

*when I told Hassan, the guy who looked like Hussein, he did...he shaved off his moustache :rolleyes:

  Steve, I agree with his acting talent, I've loved him since Platoon.

The other day, someone said I resemble a WWII German U-boat commander. You know, just like... any of them. LOL. :confused:

I frequently have people come up and say I'm Keanu Reeves' doppelgänger. Eh, well, I probably look as miserable as he does sometimes, especially when eating sandwiches on a park bench, or atop the Eiffel Tower, or wherever else I happen to get peckish.

Every now and then someone - sometimes my brother - will say I look like Peter Sutcliffe, a.k.a the Yorkshire Ripper, which is none too flattering.

(E. Brian Rose once said I look like Jake Gyllenhaal. Well, if that means I can get close to his sister Maggie...

)

I think there are others that reoccur from time to time, but I can't remember 'em. Perhaps I try to forget. :p

This girl is described (obviously to me by her PR agent) as Anjelina Jolie's "doppleganger"...really?? because other than having the same color hair, and eyes, I see no resemblance whatsoever...don't get me wrong, she's very pretty...but she looks nothing like the person they claim - what do you think? Is she a total "HYPEleganger?

At first glance, I tend to agree with you, triple m.
Upon further inspection, I can see the comparison.
The shape of the face and of the noses is really the only difference I can see. Other than that, Yup, doppelganger
