IS LOVE FALSE?

Is love just some trick of nature maybe a product of evolutionary brain chemistry designed to make people think they have some extra special bond simply to help ensure successful procreation -- or is it really something truly from beyond, maybe our connection to a God or to eternity or to something else spiritual.

After all the divorce rates seem to indicate love is fickle!
Love of Children or spouse? Oh , this again a built in mechanism for survival, is it?

    Anyway, I think that love is real if you think it is. I guess kinda like religion or Santa Claus. As for the part regarding brain chemistry, well I suppose that helps too with the selection process. But what I think that most people fall in love with the idea of being in-love with someone, or just the idea of being in-love itself, that people tend to get blind-sighted about some things in the relationship.Things that may concern our actual feelings for our supposed partners. And sometimes, the concept of 'love' that many people have becomes distorted. After all, romantic love is not the only kind of love there is. While I have to agree that 'love' could be a mechanism for survival especially since "Men are by nature social beings", as stated by Aristotle.

    But what I think that what makes love seem fickle though is that in some people, it comes and goes. But I think that that does not mean that it is not real. Love is also an emotion, like happiness, sadness and anger. And if you feel sad one day and happy the next, can you say that you were not really sad after all? I think that love is like that. Even if a person falls out of love, it may not mean that the love you felt was not real

    Anyway, I personally am still hopeful that love really does exist. After all, even though there are many people who get divorced and whose relationships fall-out, there are also many others that work and really do last a lifetime, even with some animals.. Well, that's what I think.. Sorry for the long post
  • Divorce is on the raise because people are not understanding each other. ego also plays a major role in it. In the past we didn't have this problem because we did not have money and all lives happily. Now we have money. love towards children and person who is depressed is eternal. you cannot say it as survival. there are mothers who love a child ( not her biological child) . at some point of time everyone will reliase that there is some external force beyond human.

  • Love isn't false, but it also is not the only thing you need. I love my Macbook, but I wouldn't like being married to it.

    With any relation you need an be able to communicate and be able to understand why other people think something different. When people say 'pick your battles' it isn't supposed to mean that you're supposed to shut of most of the time b/c it's not a battle you care about. It is supposed to mean that you should shut up because most of the time it doesn't matter. When you're not able to do this is when you will have problems.

    Love is also leaving early, whether your boss likes it or not, to see your daughter's dance recital.

    • animals show a healthy protective quality bringing up their young....maybe not so healthy with their partners, ( swans excluded maybe)
      If we came out of the swamp and evolved into conscious beings, we can surely see the same attributes as animals? OK, some people have may have more of a devotion than basic animal survival programming.

      Very strong are the desires to meet the opposite sex and multiply particularly when one is younger. The older generations tend to find someone out of loneliness most of the time, then the mock devotion sets in all over again, don't you think?
      Oh, I`m not saying you don`t have a form of loving devotion, but i am thinking this is something burnt into the human psyche and society as a whole from within the parameters of evolution or where ever it came from!

  • love has to be balanced with will to survive here...you have to will to love..balance is the key...avoid rollercoasters in life, keep expectations low....as far as sensation of being in love came into existence...think of new babies and their mothers....think of deep bond...something deep that keeps us together

  • Divorce comes in life because people can't understand each other ..!! there ego are also the main and the important problem which intersect each other . Money is every thing for some people in relation so when they have less money they misunderstand each other ...!!

  • I think no one in this world can neglect, it has a vital importance in our lives, but.....its also a reality that many people just be-fool others by using the name of LOVE, ....its also a natural feeligns for some one, i think from GOD, love have mystery, you feel good emotions for someone without any reason.....

      Each of us are lucky to be here, billions of little seeds competed with you to reach the ovum....you survived, and developed into a person the other countless millions died.

  • A lack of love, of self love especially, is the cause of all humanity's problems. It took me a while to understand but LOVE is everything. There's nothing else.

  • Can't say for others...I did fall in love once! It is a nice feeling. It is one of those times when everything looks good. The best part is you start loving ur own self and start taking care of ur self
