FYI...

Is it time for a reboot?

The White House on Wednesday shocked lawmakers and advocacy groups by announcing that the President...

... would veto a proposed national cybersecurity bill known as CISPA if it reaches his desk in its current form.

It is good to keep in mind that the Administration did not say they would not support something that does what CISPA does. They only say that they would not support it in its current form and they would require more regulation as to what needs to be done and who needs to do it.

Basically, they are not against what it does, just how it does it.

Just the usual doublespeak to get the support from the "other side"...

    He'll sign..."under protest" of course.

Maybe he should act like he's all for it then...

...he's sure to be opposed by house repubs and the bill will die in the house.

It's an election year, darlin'. No boats will be rocked - or public outcries ignored - until after November.

The admin also promised to veto the NDAA with the domestic clauses in it. He lied - and kept a lot of people from protesting by lying.

DON'T get FOOLED again - continue your petitioning against this law. We already have seen admin cannot be trusted to tell the truth about vetoes.

That's not quite true Sal. He threatened to veto NDAA if the clause wasn't added.

That was before it was added in a closed door agreement that was only revealed publically after Congress started getting heat for passing it. Once people found out what was going on, Admin promised to veto it - and people relaxed and quit moving on it. Then he didn't veto it. The whole thing was a sham and a lie from get to go. Congress would have been knocking that thing down in its entirety when it expired in the first place if they were listening to the will of the people.

The Reps are REALLY rushing this through aren't they. They really don't want to give any one time to mobilize against it. Geesh!

This kind of weasel behavior is why we all hate politicians.
