LOL Shane. That was hilarious and unexpected.

I won't say anything more because I don't want to ruin it for anyone else.

  • I remember seeing this ad somewhere when it came out, and thinking it was very clever...but there was a chance of losing part of the viewers who would be confused, and not wait for the hook...It's a good ad, but I wouldn't put it on the top...

Like a lot of award-winning ads, it's clever and technically well executed and no doubt it looks good in the agency's portfolio.

But it didn't make me want to rush out and buy cheese.

Was it actually a TV ad?

I remember seeing this and assumed it was TV but there is no cheese called Nolans in the UK so why would it have been on TV?

Well Dan, l did a little research and apparently the cheese company doesn't exist, but John Nolan does, and makes animatronics and special effects for films! So it is really ad add to get work for himself, through hoping that this video will go viral.

The licensing rights for all the songs, would cripple most advertisers budgets, if it was targeted for TV.

Maybe it was played on TV, as part of the funniest videos online, but he did end up winning an award, so it was worth all effort and cost, advertising wise!

P.S. here is the version with a better description down the bottom of the video, or short film!

P.P.S. the mouse does wink, when he is eating the cheese, (missed that the first time).

  • This Nolan seems to have a strange obsession with road kill...

He's found himself a unique niche...animated roadkill taxidermy...

Arrrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhhh, you just spoilt the ending!

But l think that most people could figure out where his short films are going, nothing lost!

And l agree he needs to try something new, animal conservationists would gasp at his films, especially if they didn't stay til the end.
