Sony Experia ( Ice Cream Sandwich OS)
Despite launching a slew of new Android phones minus the Ericsson branding, Sony hadn't yet unveiled a single model that Come up with Android 4.0 preinstalled. Now it looks as though they're finally going to offer a model that won't require an OTA update to get a taste of ICS (ice Cream Sandwich-- at least in China.
That might not be such a bad thing when you look at what kind of hardware the Xperia Neo L is packing. Things start off nicely with a 4-inch, 480 x 854 display. From there, it's a downhill slide. A 1GHz Snapdragon S2 processor with an Adreno 205 GPU is teamed up with just 512MB of RAM, and the Neo L is equipped with a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera. Both are a far cry from what we've seen in Sony's other Xperia phones thus far.
Still, with support for GSM and HSDPA/HSUPA networks, this new Xperia is clearly the kind of device that could make Sony an option for loads of consumers that don't want to spend a ton of cash for a tricked-out new smartphone, but still want a name they recognize and a stylish design. It also features the same volume-boosting xLoud audio tech as its Xperia, and there's still a front-facing VGA camera so you can video chat with your friends and family.
And as humble as the Xperia Neo L's hardware might be, at least you'd be able to flaunt the operating system in front of your friends who opted for a more expensive Sony model. Although Sony has promised ICS updates for all its new models, there's no telling when they're going to arrive =)
