Worrying PayPal Dispute

Good evening folks,

I'm just looking for a little advice. I sold a website via Flippa 5 days ago, I accepted payment via PayPal (I know!) as to avoid the hefty Escrow fees.

I set up the website for the customer, transferred the domain and all the relevant files - he was very chuffed and we both parted ways.

Now 5 days later, I've logged into my PayPal account this morning only to find he's created a dispute claiming the website wasn't as described. He's fabricated a story claiming I'm withholding vital website information in order for it to function. Yet it's online and functioning perfectly fine.

I've contacted the user in question, only received a response claiming he was now "bored" of the website. I'm quite lost on what to do. Currently my PayPal is in the red by $1,600.

What are PayPal like on digital products?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

PayPal sees a website as a intangible item, so the best thing to do is tell PayPal everything that happened and that you did deliver what he paid for and it is an intangible item. You should also call PayPal about this as well.

Escrow would have been worse in this situation, as the buyer has complete authority to reject the site within the inspection period.

PayPal usually only looks at whether the item has been delivered or not. It does not want to get involved into whether the item is as described or not.

I definitely agree about calling Paypal. I always get better results than trying to address a dispute on their website.

I've had extremely good results talking to a real person and explaining the situation.

if you have any prove then you can show it to paypal. Also do you have any terms and condition page for your service? If yes then what about the refund policy? Submit your terms and condition policy to paypal as well as to clients. Internet is a very good place for bad persons.
